Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 brings 15% faster CPU, 50% more powerful GPU

The latest 7-series Qualcomm chip slides in between the SD 7+ Gen 2 and SD 7s Gen 2.

    Its literally a Snapdragon 870

      Its looks like that Poco F5 with its sd 7+ gen 2 is to powerful for midrange class. Get it when is still available, cause Poco F6 will probably use this downgraded chip, something like Poco x3 pro and next Poco x4 pro, which had worse soc than previous midel.

        Hopefully this will bring phones for ~400€, usb3.0 and microSD support.
        It's sad to see the smartphone market become copies of fruit phone.

Also sd 8 gen 2 is going to midrange price this year, no midrange can touch that.

                As long as they increase gpu perfomance mid cores like A715/A720 are good enough for Majority of tasks.

                    Anonymous, 17 Nov 2023still dimensity is the winnerWell, probably yes, as for their price, they're not any worse. Mediatek is however having a bit of a mess with their naming: after, say, 7050/7080 came out, it all became beyond my comprehension of which was which.

                    I would rather stick with 920/1100/1300 naming for older lineup, whilst designating a newer one like 2800/2820 and 2900/2920+ etc. Or maybe i'm wrong.?

The latter is... moreI dont think so, It should be at least 5% faster, looking at frequencies of the prime core it looks like it could be worse, but we dont know if the new one has Cortex-X4 vs Cortex X2 and the middle cores of the 7 Gen 3 have higher frequency too. I think its a bit faster, maybe 5% in CPU and 15-20% in GPU than the 7+ Gen 2, but we will see, i recommend a lot the Poco F5 because of that chip, is very good for phones that cost 300-350€

                        Poco F5 is as about as middle as you can get. It's also strange that the Xiaomi 13T didn't get 4k60 either, considering Dimensity says the 8200 Ultra supports it.
