In the one side I would say it's a shame that Apple is still using 60hz for its vanilla devices (and it is something to be ashamed of in 2023 but Apple gets away with it as they always do with everything that is questionable) but on the other side I have never felt disadvantaged with my iPhones on 60hz. They do run smoothly, even at that refresh rate, at least as long as they are in good shape. They do tend to stutter when they get older and the hardware has more issues in running everything smoothly as when they were factory fresh. Same goes for any brand or OS as a matter of fact but year, when you ask that kind of money every normal person would expect at least 90hz and preferably 120hz. Oh well...it's Apple and Apple would not be Apple if they didn't think they can do everything and ask big money, even if sometimes it's not worth it.

Maybe that single spec point just isn’t a big deal for them 🤷 in any event you might not want to pay such prices for the iPhone, but many others apparently do.

We all know Apple likes to squeeze out features like toothpaste, but this... this is just insane. It's already beyond the scope of reasonable for them to keep doing this.

Ivan,
I know you did not say it out of malice but please don't do our thinking for us. Don't pretend to know what we feel. Please. We have been asking it since years. You know it. Yet you go on record saying we dont mind a 60 hz for another year. What is wrong with you?

BlahBlah, 20 Nov 2023Compare Galaxy A14's high refresh screen with iPhone... moreThat's for you, you prefer good battery life than smooth scrolling? Oh come on you can have both with top of the line flagship. Samsung, xiaomi and even the pro maxes themselves have high refresh rate and good battery life stop covering apple up, and you can't compare a 200dollar phone to an 800 dollar do you expect it to outperform it? No cause no one would buy the 800 dollar phone if a 200 dollar phone can do more, compare it to other flagships.

A company that ... moreWe are not talking about sales, we are talking about refresh rate, most people don't care about refresh rate cause there don't know about it/they use their phone for basic reasons, but it's not acceptable paying 899 dollar for a 60hz iPhone. Again 80% of people who uses an iPhone doesn't know about refresh rate. They just take pictures and scroll Instagram

It was never a question whether or not Apple could keep selling at a higher price for less. Any company with the kind of fan base they have obviously could. It's just morally bankrupt and they deserve to be called out for it. I know you're smart enough to know they do.
By the way, I subsidized a family member's purchase of an iPhone 15 Pro. Just in case you keep insisting that Apple should only be criticized by actual buyers lol.

You'd be surprised how few people know what it is/can actually notice a change. With that said, I still don't think a phone costing more than 400$ should have 60hz in 2023...

DaFink, 20 Nov 2023Annnnnd ..... que a ton of complaints, mostly by those who ... moreThat's probably because you are here talking with other geeks and phone nerds who are mostly Android users and they of course know better then average Joe using iPhone's.
Well surprise I am an average Joe using Android phones and I don't give a duck for HRR. I can see the difference but it's not like majority people want to potray with comparing night and day.
What about micro stutters on Android flagships even after some shorter time of use? Like half of year, a year tops? HRR will not help you with that. Android is such a great system and I love it so much more then iOS, but they don't have these kind of micro stutters even after longer use. I know. There is no perfect phone. And when we find it its already too old as they invent another bigger number on their specs so they can sell it as a "new big thing you must have".
Cheers

Jeffwinger, 20 Nov 2023So you are saying only Tech geeks need high refresh rate? 🤣... moreRegardless of your opinion on the subject the iPhone 15 series is enjoying decent sales performance.
Now whether those buying such devices are as you say deluded ‘to the the point where they think it is acceptable for standard iphones to have only 60Hz refresh rate’ or just not pedantic enough to make a single spec point a make or break issue?
Who knows, either way they are still selling, much to the annoyance of many who frequent this site, for some reason 🤷
