One more reason to wait for S24 series instead. My A52 already has 25W charging but I have 45W charger.

Samsung are really missing a SD 7+Gen2 in their portfolio, this could be a worthy successor to the A52S

A55 is not fifth device in A5x family if you count A50 as well.

And of course that charger comes in a box with more regulatory junk inside a bigger box which may or may not have each charger individually wrapped in plastic 🤣

There's been a leak that says the Galaxy M55 will have the 7Gen 1 (Finally a worthy successor to the M52). Could be the same for the A55?

I'm fine without a charger in the box as long as the phone has a headphone jack.

Man I wish Samsung at least add a 7.5w wireless charging on the A55, just to compete with the Pixel 7a
it's always rainy in my place and I often have to wait until my phone is dry before charging (yes I do bring umbrella), it would be great if I could just plop it on the wireless charger, even if it's slow
that thin copper pouch cost them nothing, they just refuse to let people have it

I think these a series phones are all compelling if or when they go on sale, especially if you're working in civil construction or any other industry where a US 700 phone is too risky to... risk...
That and the fact I never see the S series go on sale until year after launch really makes me favour the budget line.

BlahBlah, 21 Nov 2023You probably meant any non-Chinese OEM's knights, not ... moreIs worry about battery degradation the reason why Samsung's 45W is barely any faster than their 25W charging?

BlahBlah, 21 Nov 2023You probably meant any non-Chinese OEM's knights, not ... moreMost non Chinese OEMs have pretty much decided on the standard USB-PD as their fast charging tech, even Apple. And they tend to have more accountability if something goes wrong (look at the Note 7).

BlahBlah, 21 Nov 2023You probably meant any non-Chinese OEM's knights, not ... more"I think it's not matter of "can we do it" as I believe Samsung and others CAN make what Chinese OEM's did, but choose not to."
That's exactly the problem here, they chose not to give a basic feature, but they charge customers as if they did include such feature.
"Ultra fast chargings still don't have a solid proof about battery degradation over time, so "western" OEM's play safe. "
Play it safe, like Apple does? Their batteries degrade insanely fast, yet they don't even charge fast at all.
