When Exmor T becomes mainstream, brands can have smaller sensors with same performance of current larger sensors. Less space taken by cam system, less heat generated by sensors, thinner modules. No need for 7mm thick bumps.

To have performance equal to Type 1.0, it will be only necessary much smaller 1/1.28".
Super wide and periscopes with 1/2.5" that will perform like 1/1.56" .

To be used as 2nd and 3nd (or 4th) cameras.

    In the future, Sony Semicon plans to sell Exmor T of 1/2.9" , 1/2.5" , 1/2", 1/1.56" , 1/1.28" and 1".

    So far there are 800/T808 (53MP 1/1.35"), imx902 (50MP 1/1.12") , unnamed from iphone 15 (48MP 1/1.6"), imx898 (50MP 1/1.12" ), imx902 (108MP 1/1.28"), imx903 (48MP 1/1.14" iphone 16 pro max).

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2023https://hothardware.com/news/oneplus-12-sony-lytia-camera-d... moreThat "weibo link" leads to nowhere other than OnePlus's weibo mainpage. Where's the long post about the same stack technology? Did you actually clicked into it?

Besides this article is poorly written by yet another editor confused by Sony's rebranding campaign. LYTIA brand does not guarantee the same technology used in IMX888(a.k.a. LYT800 a.k.a. LYT-T808). The LYT600 is rebranded IMX586 family, maybe the nerfed IMX582 which has weaker video output function.

Blah blah blah for the sensors!! What do I care what generation or technology they are? Are you going to record a movie or series? Don't tell me you're a professional photographer and you're going to take photos from a phone, hahaha that's not a professional photographer hahaha!!! It's just a phone with a camera for a dinner forum and a meeting with friends and things like that and the cell phone will fulfill that and more... the pixel 8 pro has a 4-year-old sensor and no one complained

Media will be pushing oneplus has it, when it does not.

H's fanboys on weibo spent months saying P60 Pro had it, when it was just 789 with Ryyb CFA.

Good screen but why under rated camera. If u say flagship then put 1 inch sensor. Waste .. put little more money take x100 pro vivo. In 2024 huawai will be back... so good to wait for a year.

If the quality of the photos is even 80% of the Oneplus Open with pricing similar to that of the Oneplus 11, THIS WOULD BE A WINNER!!!

Only Chinese social media(including tipsters and official accounts) have the true first-hand information about Chinese phones. Through translation and interpretation, there's confusion.

Yet, how do you know that T808 is LYT-800 and 808 is not it? Is there a document mapping this somehow?
Or is it based on the announced specs of the module? As in, LYT-800 can only be something with 48MP and 1/1.43" thus 808 cannot bit it since its 50MP and 1/1.4"?
                            Is that it?

Based on my understanding, if LYT-808 is REALLY a stacked sensor, like LYT-T808(a.k.a. LYT800), OnePlus would heavily advertise it, even as a main selling point.

However, in the Chinese OnePlus 12 official website, not a single word has mentioned "stacked" or something similar.

Based on tipster message and leaks from coolapk, LYT-808 is IMX789 with newer firmware, which have nothing to do with the true Exmor T LYT-T808(a.k.a. LYT800). So we're basically get the same thing as OnePlus 9 Pro(OnePlus 9 used IMX689)

The best I could guess is that Sony and OnePlus deliberately released two sensors with very similar names to confuse customers. This has always been true in renaming campaigns, as we witnessed how Intel & AMD had done years ago.

Again, did OnePlus and Sony admitted LYT-808 uses the same stacked technology as LYT-T808(a.k.a. LYT800)?

                                  No, neither did.

Oneplus vanished from my mobile supplier in the uk. Had to make do with a xiaomi 12t pro when what i really wanted was the oneplus 11 seeing as my previous device was oneplus 8. So like before in oneplus early years its unavailable in the uk.
