Fairphone is the spiritual successor to Nokia. HMD needs to learn from them if they actually want to make Nokia phones and not just Nokia branded phones.

you cant repair a better performing chip on it or add more ram or better camera after like 5 years in use and it still have few years left on support.
It's too expensive for SD782 performance level chip when we have middle class already 50% more powerful over this with chips like 7+ ge 2 or better like D8100
Just so this phone will be still smooth after it's 7th android update

That's obviously not a shocking result at all. Would have been shocking if they got like 6/10.

"Despite the removable back cover, Fairphone 5 still carries an IP55 ingress protection rating against dust and jets of water."
That's not a good thing. It means it wasn't good enough for an IP68 rating (I mean the first 5 means it's not even fully dust resistant, let alone liquids). Just because it has a rating doesn't mean it's better than phones without a rating. The rating doesn't do anything but tell you how resistant it is. Phones with no rating but still with the seals and a glass back will 100% fare better than this.
To be clear, I don't have a problem with the fact that its not very water resistant. I'll take removeable backs over that any day. But lets not misinterpret things. Tbh I wish they forewent the whole rating, it's just a waste of money. And saving money is something Fairphone needs to learn to do considering they're selling a phone with those rather pitiful specs for over 800 smackers.

This should definitely be the default for future phones, especially for that 1 anti-consumer phone company. Cough cough apple cough cough.

Let's hope iFixit will adjust their ratings some day to make all other phones' ratings reflect reality. Giving unrepairable phones 6/10 is cowardly. No phone that requires heat guns and exceptional care to avoid cracking a 400 buck display shouldn't even get a 1/10.
