Early reports showed a chip that throttled badly, we set the record straight.

Mediatek sux, 18 Dec 2023Then why you are defending mtk so hard?Because I believe MediaTek releasing great high-end SoCs will also force Qualcomm to stay competitive, therefore end consumers will end up benefitting from it? Like, am I not allowed to praise a company for releasing a good product? FFS..

Your username is literally "Mediatek sux", you should probably change it to something that sounds less unhinged and comically biased if you want to be taken seriously on this topic.

Mediatek sux, 18 Dec 2023Then why you are defending mtk so hard? He's just providing arguments against you, what a snapdragon fanboy

I've already explained the benefits of getting rid of those "e" cores and I understand why they want to sacrifice a bit of idol power efficiency to reduce power consumption under medium to high load.

Big companies aren't religious beliefs, I don't know why anyone wants to take sides and becomes desperate to defend their favourites when the manufacturers will never love them back.

Nick Tegrataker, 18 Dec 2023It can achieve a higher peak performance, and also is more ... moreSo even with all that its barely faster. By removing small core it has low standy battery. I bet they cheaped out on everything other than cpu/gpu to make profit. Maybe they sell at loss to gain market. Keep suking mediatrash.

Mediatek sux, 18 Dec 2023So you can see very little improvement over qualcomm too, w... moreIt can achieve a higher peak performance, and also is more efficient at the same performance level? What's *your* problem here, did you honestly think Mediatek would be stupid enough to do "X4 cores all 4GHz GO VRRRR" or something lol?

Stop being salty and just appreciate the fact that Qualcomm now has an even stronger incentive to improve their chip design, because Samsung (both Exynos and Tensor) hasn't been competitive with Qualcomm's offerings at all in recent years and they never faced any real rivals for a while now.

It's great that mediatek is toe to toe in performance with sd 8 gen 3. It will keep Qualcomm in check because of increased competition. Still I will always prefer snapdragon chip because once your software upgrade period is over, sd chip allow custom rom to be installed.
Mediatek is not a worthy competitor unless they allow custom rom support.

Cool to see. Just unfortunate that Snapdragon will probably stay the better choice for emulation despite how much better Mediatek might be on paper, but perhaps this could encourage emulator devs to take Mediatek more seriously? Only time will tell.

In modem and ISP? No, in big cities you won't have any issues with modem at all and for ISP, vivo is using dedicated v3 chip on it so you will still get one the best cameras out there on a phone, but I can't say the same for feature phones that are going to come with 9300.
