18 December 2023
The ring will give you manual control over zoom, aperture and focus, just like on a real camera.

Very few people have time to adjust the settings on a phone camera every single time when it's used as a point-and-shoot for the majority of the time.

Also, I've never said the current Xperia has a bad auto mode, I was just replying to a user who claimed "real photographers don't bash phones without good auto mode" which was a straight-up bizarre statement for anyone to make.

All other Pro, 1, 5 and 10 have oled from Samsung.

Codes that start with AM/AS are samsung.

Guess why? BECAUSE PHONES DON'T NEED THIS FEATURE AND NOBODY ASKED FOR IT. It's a selling point to attract customers, there's no need for it, nor it would make it easier to take photos. It's that simple, just as with many other "innovations". They have to keep bringing something interesting or new in order to keep the customers into buying their products. I'm amazed you don't realize that. So the one to accept it should be you and move on.

I would hope so since you think this is useless. Also, the auto mode is pretty good on the Xperia 1 V. Even in auto mode it's no garbage like many here have posted. What makes the difference is your expectations of what mobile image/video should look like that you would constitute as good. Nothing wrong with your perception of how image should look like out of the mobile camera, but it probably doesn't align with my perception especially when it comes to video output.

Some great ED and a few other types of coating are definitely necessary. Smartphones need to improve noise and sharpness at the pixel level and concentrate on computational photography algorithms for improving the exposure latitude as well.

Smartphone makers could also do a mini metabones kind of lens work, where the outside most lens is much larger than it already it, and use a much sharper lens element with much greater contrast to help create much better fine detail. I guess they do something similar, though I guess the outermost lens could be even larger and of even high quality.
