Probably you can't even make a difference between xiaomis tracking and ads and otger garbage apps that you have installed and serve you ads. Probably your devices is so full of it, so much that you think is normal.
They also make it harder to unlock bootloader, because well, they are tired of not making money out of previous 'tracking" devices, cause people switched to custom ROMs.

Can anyone confirm if the new HysperOS supports navigation gestures with nova launcher?
I've tried many different methods on miui and it's just not the same as the default gestures.

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2023"how many people need custom rom?🤣" Everyone. ... moreAre you a coder, do you know what's inside of a custom OS? Which one you install and why do you trust it to be free of pretty bad actors?
I def8netly i do mot recomand to amyone to install costum ROMs, especially those forks, only if they know enough where to look for strange behavoiur. So you see, custome OS is definetly NOT for everyone, and probably not for you.

It was on Android 11 (Miui 12.1 iirc) when i sold it. The Australian rom is very close to Euro rom in that they both have significantly less amount of bloatware.

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2023"how many people need custom rom?🤣" Everyone. ... moreGo on, tinker with your custom ROM, there's no fault in that.
But most people won't ever need them anyway

And even in the event that one will need to flash a custom ROM, something will inevitably broke

                    Like BT not working
                    Or maybe WIFI not working
                    Or maybe camera

Android is so fragmented, no one ROM will work for everything. I'll stick with my manufacturer's ROM.

When I checked later I saw a notification icon in the top left hand corner of the screen. The notification stated that HyperOS Beta had been installed. It was strange because I hadn't checked for an update and I am not a member of the Beta program.

Many Xiaomi phones, especially Chinese versions, are available in the gray market due to their low prices in China. They tend to be injected with infected version of MiUI custom ROM with literal malware, viruses, keylogger, and permanent ads.

Actual MiUI, even on the cheap phones, can still have their ads disabled. MiUI on the Xiaomi flagship series don't have ads.

A typical consumer buy Xiaomi phones due to value for the money, not because of custom ROM. I bet Xiaomi has their internal stats, that people doing custom ROM is a minority, as such it's more important in making sure their phones are not modified by resellers.
