      yes, you're right,i bought k60 pro a few months ago and i asked the seller if the rom is global and he said yes i thought there is a global official rom for the phone and they installed it or at least there is a custom rom which support ota update,but then i realized that the rom is xiaomi eu which is a custom rom and i cant update it via ota update

Xiaomi is trying to upscale their brand, so reliability and trust become important. There are too many resellers out there selling Xiaomi phones injected with custom ROM full of malware, giving bad impressions to general public about Xiaomi phones. Add on second hand market with random custom ROM installed. Xiaomi probably sees that the number of users doing their own custom ROM is not significant enough to warrant the troubles those shady resellers bring to the brand.

                        I chose the 12X because of its size. The F3, F4 and F5 type phones would be perfect for me - excellent displays and performance, excellent battery life and fast charging, and decent enough cameras. However, they're absolutely huge. When I look at alternatives, Realme and OnePlus are just as big (or bigger). I can see why people stick with the Pixels and their crappy battery life and slow charging.

                          Mi Unlock tool has not been working for the last few months and I believe HyperOS is to blame. Probably Xiaomi decided to end all the MiUI services that required connecting to Xiaomi servers (like unlocking the bootloader) so now I have no choice but to wait for my phone to get the HyperOS update.

                          But Xiaomi has stated that HyperOS devices will be EVEN HARDER to unlock 😢

                            I am on MiUi 14 (A14) on my X13Pro and it is very smooth (did some own debloat too). Have no issues and battery life is great. Look forward to HyperOS.

                                  I saw some unofficial lists of the full device list but none mentioned the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G, does anyone know why? The Redmi Note 10 Pro with the same chipset (SD 732G) was on the list but not the 12 Pro 4G which also got updates to Android 13 & MIUI 14
