dude111, 28 Dec 2023The OS is still android. This is just another skin.It's basically MiUI15. It's just a rebrand. MiUI as a brand is tied to smartphones, while Xiaomi wants to push their software to other type of devices. Thus the rebrand.
Just like iOS. In its early days, it was called iPhone OS. iOS is a rebrand.

OEMs can do whatever, but in the end they need GMS to make their phones viable outside China, and with GMS comes the requirement to pre-install Google apps. Google always win as they're the one owning the Play Store.

This is eagerly awaited by millions of Xiaomi fans, even many other people here too. I watched on one YouTuber saying HyperOS with Android 14 on the Poco F5 has no throttling at all, this is a good improvement.

Try to research and see what was the situation before apple's arise.
You will feel dissapointed as innovation is slower nowadays than those days.

Android phones should just stay with basic android versions.
Companies should try to give latest android version updates for more years, than giving those crapy one ui, miui type updates.
They are just spending time for wrong outputs mostly.
IOS don't give any other ui, microsoft don't give other extra ui, then android should give just android than competing for giving the best ui or so as they looks more like marketing gimmicks.

Design is the last thing that goes through my mind, but functionality is what matters, i had the chance to try a couple handsets with Hyper OS, and i must it's promising, that is the CN version tho idk if the global version will be the same, but i bet they won't be much difference, hyper os is very smooth and they don't lie when it comes to performance it's very good, but we'll see if that's the case for global rollout

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2023Every android is the same. It really doesn't matter if... moreAll android are not the same, when it comes to Android Xiaomi MIUI stands out even better than iOS. I use iPhone with the lastest iOS and xiaomi. And that's why despite all the disappointment I get from xiaomi, I couldn't leave them because no other company offer features they offer even Apple.
Let me school you a little,
1. MIUI has features that you can hide apps you don't want anybody to know it's installed on your phone.
2. You can also lock individual apps installed on your phone, this feature apple tried it and failed, the apps will automatically unlock at 12am.
3. You can clone any third-party app installed on your phone.
4. You can have a private file locked with different security code in your file explorer (it can be picture, video or document any type of file)
I can go on and on to tell you features in xiaomi that are not in your previous iPhone.
And all this features are native on MIUI you don't need a third-party app.
Xiaomi MIUI is designed for both regular users and secret service.
But other phone's are just for regular users, no extra layer of security for sensitive documents or apps.
