"as compared to what? entry-level market models" Putting words in my mouth, fanboy? I'm obviously not comparing it to entry level market models. I'm saying it's junk compared to other flagships. Not even "ultra", top of the shelf flagships. There are REGULAR flagships like for example the Vivo X100 Pro that are superior in nearly every way. All Samsung has going for them at the moment is their software update policy.
Enjoy your incredible 1/3.52" telephoto for the third year in a row, I guess.

Samsung is not going to use 12.5MP portion of 50MP 115mm, it always switch to main cam when you use digital zoom.
This 10x is from the 200MP, same way 100x was from 108.

I value criticism, but this is just moaning for the sake of moaning and painting false image cause you don't have it your way, like a kid in a candy store who's been denied unlimited candy budget.

The 10MP telephoto is a joke at this point. They're not even trying anymore. But I guess I can't blame them, because people will still buy this junk and act like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2024According to rumors, the periscope camera of the S23 Ultra ... moreAnother disadvantage is the slightly smaller sensor area at 230mm, if they use a 50 megapixel f/3.4 115mm equivalent camera with 0.7 micrometer pixels. But this only reduces the signal to noise ratio for very good light conditions. In other light conditions, the signal to noise ratio would be similar because the effective lens diameter should be about the same based on rumors.

If we compare the 230mm field of view of the S23 Ultra with the rumoured 230mm field of view of the S24 Ultra, then we get:

            S23 Ultra at 230mm:
            10 megapixels
            Sensor area: 12.5mm²
            Effective lens diameter: 5.55mm
            Color filter array: Bayer

            S24 Ultra at 230mm (rumoured):
            12.5 megapixels or 3.1 megapixels(analog binning)
            Sensor area: 6.1mm²
            Effective lens diameter: roughly 5.58mm
Color filter array: Quad Bayer(12.5 megapixels) or Bayer(3.1 megapixels)
