The real reason why iphone sells in US - artificial limiting of options as most good android phones don't ever come here.

Could be jus... moreThere are many options at normal price without ads. People attacked the only company who was selling the cheapest phones. Even though ads could be switched off.
People always do stupid things.

Apple should completely pull out from China. China should ban all Apple products and Google Pixels completely.

I've used Apple Samsung Huawei Honor Xiaomi Realme LG HTC Sony Nokia Pixel Motorola Lenovo Oneplus. In the past I liked Sony but now hands down Samsung is the king with superb user interface and many updates. Only slow charging is a disadvantage for me but not a big deal.

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2024Well, people been complaining about ads on Xiaomi phones wh... moreAnd why do you see this as a positive thing?
Could be just a marketing strategy.
"Look guys we got rid of those awful ads. But, of course we needed to increase the price because of this".
I mean a good company shouldn't have put the ads there in the first place and increase the prices only if some nice extra feature were added.
Netflix did the same with their ads subscription and non ads subscription prices. And people didn't like this. You say if Xiaomi does it, is okay and positive?

I mean, being honest, USB-C cant even be count as an "upgrade". Thats more like just admitting they were stuck in the past.
Android has matured a lot in the last 5 years, so much that iOS is now looking like a stuck stone compared to it.

Apple sales in India is going to be in decline soon. A sizable percentage of Indians bought Iphones using credit card. These users wont be changing their Iphones next year until they finish or nearly finish paying the credit card instalments.

Mobilemaster, 08 Jan 2024Japan loves Iphones. They also love Pixel phones. It seems ... moreHave you used those early Japanese Keitai? They are advance in spec, but really horrible in UI and UX. Lay consumers are not stupid, they will flock at something that is easier and more convenient to use (easy music, app, and movie purchases under one company, Apple).
Meanwhile the Japanese companies are stuck with their old executives doing nothing.

Now people complain when Xiaomi have to increase prices because they are scaling down ads and starting to offer better software support policy.

This article has taken some excerpts out of context. While users purchasing the Huawei Mate 60 series phones are indeed influenced by patriotism, the decline in sales of the iPhone 15 series is also attributed to Apple's long-term neglect of localizing features for the mainland Chinese market. Examples include features highly valued by mainland Chinese users, such as call recording, more timely location displays, and dual-app functionality. Additionally, the subscription prices on the iOS App Store are higher compared to the Android system.

Of course, nobody touched the fact that China is not doing so hot economically in the past few months, especially with the real estate collapse.
This is why I am hopeful that we might see the iPhone SE4 being released this year.
