Vin Aigre, 13 Jan 2024If you don't know, don't say anything. My P40 ... moreActually, access to GMS has been easier now thanks to Micro G services, the only problem is that it is still not that native which means that some apps who really relied on GMS for everything will not work on Huawei devices in which Gbox might solve that issue. So it is recommended that people use Gbox, Gspace and Micro G on Huawei devices.

I just hope this chip isn't made by TSMC back on 2020, just like the Kirin 9000C, I expect that Huawei really achieve so incredible that the US gov just went into panic and super "lying" mode. But it is just a stockpile chip that was release in 2020 by TSMC, but who knows maybe they are just stockpiled, Huawei did not even release any vital information about the Kirin 9000s and many people are still speculating maybe the chip is a pure 7nm, a 10nm or a 14nm slap together to reach a 7nm performance. But what is important is that they are fighting and they are achieving more than what many people and Huawei themselves had expected. They say that they prepared for the US bans, but I think that they are not prepared enough.

We have already pictures from the P70 in many webpages.
But they are not able to share them, they prefer Samsung and Apple for the fanboys.

Yes I have same argument that the P70 Series will use in-house chips with 5G and I'm waiting for it in my market.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2024Omnivision is american (californian, despite created by chi... moreThat's what it says on Wikipedia but according to Omnivision's own group website they are a Chinese company. I've quoted what it says on their website. 'OmniVision Group
OmniVision Group-Shanghai Weir Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (SH: 603501) is the world's top Chinese semiconductor design company. The group is headquartered in Shanghai, with R&D centers and business networks all over the world, with annual shipments exceeding 12.3 billion units. OmniVision Group is committed to providing sensor solutions, simulation solutions and display solutions to help customers solve technical challenges in the fields of mobile phones, security, automotive electronics, wearable devices, IoT, communications, computers, consumer electronics, industry, medical and other fields.'
I guess it's subjective. It was first registered in California but was later acquired by a Chinese company. They officially refer to themselves as being a Chinese company though.

AlexPP, 11 Jan 2024That's funny how this company is trying to survive. ... moreNot only do the latest Huawei flagships have 5g support (with speeds exceeding the latest iPhones) but they also have satellite calling which doesn't exist on any other smartphone. Add in the best cameras you can get on a smartphone, teature wise, they are as cutting edge as you can get. Their SOC performance will catch up eventually.

That's funny how this company is trying to survive.
Even it's 5g on its phones not 5g but 4g only. They lie about 5g support. Their phones (new ones) don't support 5g anymore (most of them). FAKE and communism fail, fail and fail again 🤣😀😁

yalim, 11 Jan 2024I'm not referring it's homeland. it is a proper c... morethe things is they no need to hurry to enter the global market because the latest data show they sold lots Mate 60 pro with kirin 9000s. huawei and SMIC still cant fill the demand of mate 60 pro currently because supply constraints otherwise huawei will sell more mate 60 pro.
for sure, they will enter the global market again in the future but i think until SMIC can solidly produce chipset at great amount, huawei gonna stay at mainland china for the time being. and IMO that will take at least for 2 more years for SMIC and huawei to enter global market again.

bear in mind P70 using 5g new SoC, i doubt they can fill the global market demand with already so much demand in mainland china. i hope im wrong but IMO huawei still gonna stay away from global market for 2 more year at least until their SMIC productions become more solid. and they still sold lots phones even only china exclusive so they not need to hurry to enter global market again.
