Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+ confirmed for Exynos/Snapdragon split

17 January 2024
Not all S24 units feature the same chipset.

That's not like the rumours after all.

Unless Samsung has proved that the Exynos 2400 has come a long way in terms of thermal efficiency and fabrication process, this will only make the vanilla S23 and S23+ an even better buy because of the efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

No Regrets, 17 Jan 2024There is so much ignorance out there I didn't want to ... moreDimensity 9200 is not better than Snap8gen2.

Go check benchmark results on the latest Xiaomi 13T pro that has the latest Dimensity 9200+.

As for Exynos 2400, we will see in the next days how close it will be to Gen3..

But i can almost guarantee it will be behind 8gen3.

MediaTek chips are only better on paper and benchmarks, can't top Snapdragon in graphics.

          >markets like South Korea, the US, China and Australia getting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Galaxy S24 and S24+ devices

Australian retailers listing Exynos for 24/24+

No Regrets, 17 Jan 2024There is so much ignorance out there I didn't want to ... moreIf the Exynos 2400 is such a good SoC, why not use it in the best phone that Samsung makes right now, the S24 Ultra? Why use it only in the 2 cheaper S24 models? That says it all.

Oh and the biggest problem isn't even the use of Exynos, but the split between Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets depending only on region. It wouldn't have been such a big problem if they would be using nothing but Exynos, it's their own thing, if it's good then they should absolutely use it, they just shouldn't have 2 different versions of the "same" phone.

Stores in Australia are listing the Exynos chip not the Snapdragon as mentioned at the top of your story.

This is the ill-informed. With no benchmarks to go on it's their posts opinions which is accurate.

The 2400 is not the 2200.

Also Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is second behind Dimensity 9200 in 2023, in 2024 it seems they still want the second best SoC Snapdragon 8 gen 3 (at the moment) Dimensity 9300 4nm Geekbench 6 multi core posted better figures than Apples A17 3nm multi only not single

Please wait only Samsung know the true benchmark scores for Snapdragon and Exynos supplied S24 and they have hinted that the novel 10 Core Exynos 2400 is a beast.
