Anonymous, 17 Jan 2024Dude x7 ultra's each component is better and costlier ... moreDo you really think any chinese phone costs more to be made than iphone pro max?
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Iphone is full of custom pieces, while oppo has many "public shelf" pieces.
Oppo uses many domestic pieces that do not pay import taxes, not the case of iphone pieces.

Chinese flagships are always $120-150 cheaper to make than iphone at least.
Final cost is BoM + other costs. Iphone pro max is surely above $600.

That is very sad when considerung how mediocre the non-Pro models were, not to mention how the 14th Gen was technically not as good as Android flagships especially in terms of the camera. I wonder how it would look when excluding the American market as that is the only one obsessed with iPhones due to iMessage while other markets could not care less.

            Transsion also owns iTEL.

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2024Just for a year and your making all this fuss? Bruh. Transsion was basically nowhere to be found in the past years, now suddenly they have nearly half the sales of Samsung, and you think that's just going to stop? Not happening.

Apple is the Rolex of the phone world, as in there's no bad choice and you get what you pay for, while Androids are like the Swatch group, too many brands that oversell the same design and features to

I mean this is kinda to be expected, Apple always has big sales numbers. Samsung has an army of flagship androids to compete against these days with many Chinese vendors offering superior products at more competitive prices.
If Samsung doesn’t change tact I would expect these numbers to shrink again in the coming 12 months.

The S23 Ultra is perhaps the most popular Samsung flagship after the magnificent S10 series. I'm just seeing more and more people use this phone, online and irl. Even then, Samsung has low sales, they put huge ahh discounts and still lower sales than iPhones, keep in mind that Samsung's most popular phones are their A04 type phones, basically super budget phones. Same goes for other brands. I think this year should be a wake up call for these brands, Samsung used to innovate, remember curved displays? Remember variable aperture? Triple camera with good enough lenses? Going from 16 MP down to 12 MP because of bigger pixels resulting in more info? Samsung has gone back on this like we don't get variable aperture when we need it the most since sensors are bigger and they're going for HUGE megapixel numbers. Which doesn't result in bad images but just aren't any better than larger sensors like their own GN2 that was used in the Mi 11 Ultra or the 1 inch type sensors with banger bokeh. Even if we say that the main sensor is okay, the telephoto lenses used are just abysmal, in a world where even the Iqoo 12 is getting a 1/2" periscope telephoto, I wonder what Samsung is thinking about with their S Ultra flagships. Only thing going for Samsung flagships is their good update policy. Official pricing for Samsung phones is just as much as Apple so most people would just go for Apple.

Same goes for Chinese phones, they're amazing, providing huge innovations in camera and stuff but do they have the brand value to charge higher? Do they have the software support to make a user feel comfortable using it and not feel like they're missing out. Besides, Chinese phones used to give hardware that beat other flagships at a more palatable price, like Vivo's past X series phones. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the latest phones but idk if the majority of people, myself included, can stomach the cost of an X100 Pro considering it's a Chinese phone with limited software support and not enough brand value. Like if you have a Samsung Ultra phone, you don't get the "wow you use android lol cheapskate" kind of comments, but with other phones you do. It sounds petty but idk, paying that much is a pretty huge commitment for many like me.

That's why everyone goes for the overall best and safest choice, Apple, an investment that lasts long due to a huge ecosystem, seamless cooperation between other Apple users and a reliable update system. Also there's so many accessories that people can tinker to their hearts content and get magsafe covers if their batteries start to fail, in short these phones last longer in people's pockets. Additionally if one guy uses Apple in a family, he'll just suggest it to others and it'll slowly grow, that's what happened to my family and only I'm the one using the S22 Ultra lol I wish the Vivo X100 Pro+ were at the very least widely available so that I could get it in my country. I don't think the X100 Pro is worth the price, in my country it's more expensive than an S23 Ultra was at the start and the X100 Pro is not the best phone in their lineup, The Pro+ will be, same goes for Oppo, their flagships are China only and even when they were global they're not that easy to find and thus are expensive.

Anyways. I just think this should be a wake up call for android manufacturers, they should try to go back to being the value oriented phone makers, pretty sure that this high cost high profit scheme isn't gonna last in the android world because of the substitute being strong af. Once someone goes Apple they don't want to go back. Oneplus 12 seems like a Oneplus phone that's finally worth it after the 8 series, solid hardware that you can use even if you don't like the main camera app by using GCAM. The Find X7 Ultra type of phones imo should cost no more than 1000 USD globally. Apple used to be mocked for being expensive, why should android phone makers follow them and not get held accountable? It's all fine when android does it cus it's cool and all? I'm not an Apple fan, I just recognise their results which are impeccable, they sell high-end phones only and still got high sales figures with improvements compared to last year. That's an achievement. But I am by heart an android fan, I can't see myself switching to Apple cus I love tinkering and tweaking, loading small apps from the web, downloading old hard to find APKs, emulating games, reading obscure manga and comics through .cbr files. All that's great but all that used to be found in cheaper packages. Samsung should spend less on pointless marketing and spend more on actual products/lower the cost of their products and if they do that pretty sure other Chinese manufacturers will follow suit. Google phones are just pathetic at 1k USD with their limited availability and closed off features and features that either take too long or are used via online methods like bruh that's some service kinda thing, gotta buy a phone for it? lmao

Don't forget that Apple never rose through an organic manner, but rather anti-competitive tactics. Xiaomi was already making better phones by 2016
