2) The 23mm is not able to record 4K beyond 46mm ( crop from 8k). At 69mm , you only get FHD unless upscale is done, what seriously harms the qualiry.

    Apple's 1.12 µm pixels with f/2.8 aperture get 15% more light than Samsung's 1.4 µm pixels with f/3.4 aperture! Which means that in the daylight, Apple's 5x pictures will be better than Samsung's 5x pictures, but at night Samsung will crush Apple with the pixel binning low noise! The Samsung's 10x pictures are 2x lossless crop on the 50MP sensor, while Apple's are 2x digital zoom from the 5x pictures, which makes Samsung's 10x pictures much better than Apple's, too! Samsung is still the zoom king!

      A smaller sensor with the same diameter lens will automatically give a bright f-number.

        200MP resolution can easily do up to 5x lossless zoom, so retaining the 3x zoom camera is unnecessary. They should've kept the 10x zoom camera and replaced the 3x zoom camera with the new 5x zoom camera instead.

          Remember that 35mm equivalent focal length always rounded in exif. This 23mm in main camera can be 22.6 or 23.4

                Now imagine 69-230mm module. Samsung will not burn money on this.
                Zoom lens costs more than prime lens.
                Having 2 cameras instead is cheaper and easier to make.

                LG Innotek has available a 4.4 - 9.0x module , nobody is using.

                      If that rumor is actually true, it's absolutely not a giant sensor. The Oppo Find X7 Ultra also has a periscope that's about the same size, but then that phone also has a 1/1.56" periscope lens, that's actually big.

                        Plus 7 years of updates. Surpassing even Apple. Come on, you can't hate Samsung this year. They won the game.

                          From a mere hardware perspective, the new camera setup is quite disappointing - especially when compared to other camera-centric flagships such as the Vivo X100 pro, which does have substantially bigger sensors than the S24 Ultra.

                          That being said, in these days, camera software and computational algorithms have become as important as the hardware, so we will see how the S24 cameras are going to perform.

                              So just looking at the hardware alone, the Pixel 8 Pro has a better set of cameras than the S24 Ultra. And the Pixel 8 has better cameras than the S24.

                              Plus Google processing wizardry.
