Seeing S24 ultra samples is like seeing s20 ultra samples from years ago. Nothing changes

Someone even posted the difference between the 2022 Xperia 1 iv and the 2023 Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the difference crystal clear*. Since my old phone was a Samsung before I sold it for my current Sony, I can agree with it.

Vale, 18 Jan 2024Wow, talk about underwhelming photos from a 2024 flagship. ... moreIf the Chinese brands can brave themselves selling their 2024 flagship phones globally, we can see Samsung and probably also Apple in deep trouble. At this point, the only reason to go for Samsung is because of their stable software.

I expect Oneplus 12 and Honor Magic 6 Pro to have much better cameras than this with much cheaper price tag.

The painting in the image and the rest of the image has the same level of details.
Why does ISO100 and ISO200 have this much noise?
Why is there motion blur on 2x photo? 1/50 shutter speed should have been easily handled by OIS.
I hope these samples were taken by a beta firmware because it is a complete mess.

I got rid of my S23 Ultra for a Pixel 8 Pro because i wasn't happy with the S23 Ultra oversaturated over sharpened images, which are processed that way to look great on social media.

The get the best out of the S23 Ultra camera you really had to start messing about with the setting, the Pixel 8 Pro on the other hand 95% of the time takes great images without having to mess with anything, point click that it.

It looks like the S24 Ultra is also following the same path as the S23 Ultra with slightly toned down saturation, but the aggressive noise reduction then over sharpened to compensate is still there, but no doubt YouTube reviewers will make it out as the second coming of Christ when it comes to images again.

Google has finally got it right with the Pixel 8 Pro because i find it boring & boring is good, because it hasn't caused me one single problem since owning it on launch, everything seems to just work fine on it, granted it isn't a benchmark powerhouse like the S24 Ultra or the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the Tenor G3 is just quietly getting on with the job it designed to do.

24ultra has no 10x telephoto mean be careful 23ultra user your 10x telephoto quality gonna decrease (Samsung things)
My advice don't update for security patch from now 🍭

8g3 can do 8k@60 single exposure and 8K@30 dual exposure.
But cameras do not support 8k@60.
So, no brand can offer it.

Who else is underwhelmed by the S24 series so far? I was expecting the S24 Ultra to be a camera powerhouse compared to the S23 Ultra but the camera samples from multiple sites leave me disappointed at best.

Narazumono, 17 Jan 2024So did the zoom get downgraded? Are the moon pictures over?It seems as a downgrade, also I've noticed a pinkish tint in all S24 picture from across website, am I the only one?

I was eager about the 5x, sadly the small sensor doesn't help. they could've also upgraded UW, 12MP isn't much anymore. Same goes for 3x ...

But hey, let's have some novelties for S25 😂

ultrah, 17 Jan 2024Still no 8k@60fps??You need a SoC powerful enough to do all that video and frame processing. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is powerful enough to handle 8K@60 PLAYBACK but CAPTURE is 8K@30.

Wow, talk about underwhelming photos from a 2024 flagship. This year Oppo and Vivo, maybe Xiaomi with their 14 Ultra, are the best cameraphones

There should be a comparison against the S23 Ultra in the review article. I'm curious to see the 10x zoom performance between the two.

Couldn't u take the same photos with S23 ultra when u clicked these for quick comparison !!! Thanks a lot for nothing.

                              10x is underwhelming at best
better than the native 10x in S23 Ultra they said

All you see here is choice from samsung. Weirdly some ppl here think that is " hardware limitation that imposes it".

Mi14 with 1/1.28" can handle better even at higher iso.

                                  Need a few updates

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2024Too much NR again, which leads to sharpening to " reco... moreYeah, the oil-painting effect is quite strong on the wooden textures and yet there's still quite a bit of noise in flat-coloured areas such as the glass door on the left-hand side. Oversharpening is also very noticeable, although it seems to have been toned down significantly from S23 which hardens every edge it finds in its photos.

The main camera is shooting at the near-base ISO (100 and 80 respectively) and the lighting condition isn't even challenging to begin with, so seeing this amount of noise and loss of details in those samples is really concerning. I believe phones from Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi would handle the same scene far better in a similar lighting situation.

So did the zoom get downgraded? Are the moon pictures over?

SoC strong enough is not the only requirement ( 8g3 is capable of 8k@60 single frame and 8k@30 dual exposure)
