Weekly poll: which of the Galaxy S24 trio will you get or will you pass?

21 January 2024
Samsung's big event this week was focused on AI but also brought a number of important hardware changes to its flagship series.

So it was not worth it in the first place.

Waiting for S25 and some real hardware upgrades.

If you wanna cry about a slight decrease in quality then why are you using the inferior front camera to begin with? You have a higher quality rear camera. You won't use that but you'll whine and try to prevent progress in the under-display camera department so you can remain stuck with a hole in your display.

Those are some big bezels on the Ultra.

With the 5% off using the Samsung shop app, an extra £50 pre-order voucher plus the bundled watch6 (probably sell it on around 150) that's effectively £250 off in the UK so not a bad start. Plus trade in price for existing phone (I got 190 for my 4 year old note10 plus) it's not bad overall for something I'm likely to keep for a few years.

            Gonna pre-order the plus

Kiddo1, 21 Jan 2024These prices are exorbitant, they work with too high margin... moreYou're not including the free double storage:

£1249 (GBP) gets you 512GB | 12GB (the same as last years preorder).

              £1349 gets you 1TB | 12GB.

And I've seen some on this site claiming to have preordered for even less, probably with voucher codes?

Some moan that the price drops in a few months, well IF that's the case, then what's to moan about, just get it cheaper in a few months or consider last years S23 series or keep what you've got, or get something else.

Yes there are improvements/ refinements, but I'm sticking with my S23 Ultra & my Note9 as a back up (& my S6 still works fine except for lagging).

The only one I actually see myself leaning to is the s24 plus

The s24 is small and I personally prefer big phones and the s24 ultra is mad ugly imo....

AnonD-1138975, 21 Jan 2024I never heard of products be repaired through phone. I mean... moreI've repeated like 5 times it's about SOFTWARE issues.

Well, not meaning no offence to samsung, but even objectively there is nothing spectacular in these phones. And these are not affordable either (in EU).

I would gladly go for Xiami 13T (Pro) though, or for an equivalent. An intersting phone to come be the realme 12 Pro with periscopic telephoto, for except of the soc they put in.

                      Easy pass for me.
For oversized featureless garbage I already have an S23 which I deeply hate. Replacing it with any of these S24 would be just buying the exact same phone I hate but now with a worse processor 'cause I'm in Europe.
                      So thanks but no thanks.

I'm open to giving up Samsung in favour of literally any Android OEM that offers me a smaller phone with the same or fewer compromises or even Apple if they bring back the Mini at this point.
I've had it with Samsung's laziness and desperation in copying all of Apple's dumb ideas. If I really wanted an iPhone, I'd have an iPhone.

Honestly, I feel that that the S24 series are just screen and chip upgrades. Most upgrades are just software.

Made a preorder on the S24U in green in my country Denmark few days ago the 18th, for a pretty good price 1.071,97€, untill the day before i wouldn't change my S23U with the new release but with another brand, untill i saw the display was totally flat 🤘🏻

Battery efficiency matters just as much

It now remains to be seen how the E2400 performs in that aspect

justasmile, 21 Jan 2024We’re talking about getting a flagship vs midrange, blud.Well by that I was referring to an upper mid-ranger (around $600-700 or almost below a base flagship) There are some phones that are as good as base flagship, like the Nothing phone (2) for example or the oneplus Ace 3. Sure, flagship phones have better cameras and chipsets, but for me that does not click a lot of pictures or play games on phone, an upper mid-ranger works well

This year is the first one after many when I didn't buy a Samsung. I have a large collection, all premium, I used to really like them, but I don't know how, these guys managed to alienate me. This new generation was the final blow. I don't have plans to buy another Samsung for the foreseeable future, but I guess, I will return after the other competitors would do this great job to alienate me, too.
My last phone, a very recent purchase, was a Sony - and I don't regret this choice!

These prices are exorbitant, they work with too high margins.
Regular S24 Ultra 1250GBP? Cut off 350 and it would be close to fair. The others should be priced accordingly. Hype creates deceit, deceit gives them more injust money.
The phone may be good for a while, but does not reflect price value in the market well enough, whick quickly falls to balance.
They barely innovate buy now at the high-end. Don't jump on the bandwagon and support the false enrichment of these companies(Hi Apple).

Buy reasonably, don't give for these phones more than what these companies deserve.

justasmile, 21 Jan 2024I’m going to predict that most would choose not to get the ... moreNot gonna lie exynos looks ike it can compete now
