Express music series are cheap and really good,at least the 5700 hasn't let me down so far, this one looks even better, went to Nokia site and all specs GSMarena said are correct,it is Carl Zeiss lens but unprotected, and it is gonna be way cheaper than any Iphones, but expect a Nserie UberNokiaphone with stronger specs really soon.5800 is the best touchscreen right now for its price range and i'd almost go for it.But i'd prefer same specs on a non touch screen platform, with a crystal sapphire screen, means nearly indestructible.and Ubersound, meaning powerful speakers AND beautiful sound.Ditch the Carl Zeiss and put Leica lens before Panasonic does .Please Nokia, build me one.

ICE, 03 Oct 2008well from what i watched on nokia website, it's excellent s... moreAgain, you can easily add 3rd party apps to use some of those features. And a quote from another post, "there's no phone that will fit everyone." This is so true. All those features you mentioned I don't use. Only thing I might start using is MMS and that can be added with SwirlyMMS.

For people that are deciding to go with full touch interface phones, I urge you all to try them before you buy. If I had tried both the iPhone and E6 hands on, I would of not chosen the E6.

whats the deal with the touchscreen? is it clunky? from the vid it seems that its kinds slow. that would be a serious downer if the touchscreen was slow and unresponsive and had to press hard on the screen. anyone know for sure? thanks

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will go on sale by the end of 2008 only in the following markets :
                              - India
                              - Taiwan
                              - Hong Kong
                              - Indonesia
                              - The UAE
                              - Spain
                              - Russia

Other markets (UK, North America, China, etc) that aren't included in the above list only be getting the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in 2009 at the same time.

According to industry analysts, Nokia plans to sell about 10 million touchscreen handsets in 2009. But, I think is that this number won't be reached with the 5800 XpressMusic only.

oh, and btw, i love the guitarpick-style stylus.
it's a small detail that give this phone its own style.

                                  finally!
it's been a long time since Nokia stop producing their last touchscreen phone.
btw, since they releasing only a midrange phone,
it looks like people at Nokia not so sure what to do and still trying to figure out what the market responds to their touchscreen phone.
this phone is some kind of market experiment for them.
let's hope their next touchscreen product will be a full features hi-end phone.

Played with it. Loved it!!!! It does speed up and keep up with you and what ever you need to do. This phone is not the top model that will go against the iphone. However it will take a huge chunk of there sales due to the general public wanting to make that direct comparison. Nonetheless we'll see how it goes when it gets to the market and sites get to do week long reviews with retail packs.
