This phone is extremely well designed and if you knew anything about functionality you would agree.

the length width thickness and display size are perfect for holding in hand and one hand operation. I-phone is mostly a 2 hand or 2 finger use phone which causes problems especially while driving.

The OS (symbian)appears to be the best parts of several touch ui. It's not as smooth as the I-phone but its has many more options, more customizable and will have way more applications than any other OS. I'm so glad they threw in a stylus because there are situations the demand an accurate touch. There is no competition for symbian weather it be touch or not. Android is here only to compete with Windows mobile. the market for nokia and symbian is huge and will continue to grow.

I-phone is too "dumbed" down for me. windows mobile is not user friendly at all in my opinion. android has shown nothing interesting whatsoever but i would choose it if there were no symbian.

Only thiing left to decide is weather to buy the 5800 or wait for the top of the line model with 720p video recording

what the hell with the double tapping?! in other touch screen devices double tapping may command zooming in or out, but on this one it's simply opening an application! no-uh...not good. Samsung's F480 touchscreen implementation is much better. (Have you noticed..i didn't say Iphone)

I'd buy this phone. It has a good set of features for a very reasonable price! Iphone's are just for show off's. Though I'd like the Omnia or HTC better but they cost way too much. This is a great compromise.

yeah the phone is really gud.
esp, good that nokia introduced its touchscreen option in S60 series
S60 series, i prefer, is the best series of all in nokia handsets and touchscreen system in it is likely going to ROCK!

I have a motto in life when it comes to mobile phones that I have been practising for 2 years now. \"Don\'t buy a non-NSeries phone no matter how good it is.\"
The new batch of NSeries that are N79, N85 and N96 are still much more exciting than this one.
I\'d still prefer the classic and traditional NSeries phones with hardware alphanumeric keypad wrapped up in a dual slider form than touch-based screen phones.
But Nokia is still indeed good in marketing for providing so many alternatives catering different individual user preferences. But we\'ll see how far this new S60 innovation can go.
But for me, I\'ll go for Nokia N85 for my next phone. The AMOLED display is much better than touchscreen, at least for me.
