Kuba, 30 Jan 2024At least Samsung allows battery testing to jurnalists, not ... moreAs long as the "journalists" are making a living off the sponsored content there's bias. I don't blame them. For me, I'd like a snapdragon owner to test the exynos model and an exynos owner to test the snapdragon model. Hear what they both say...
If a youtube channel is small enough it usually isn't sponsored. A couple of those tests can help confirm the other earlier articles.
Another thing I worry about is how future firmwares are optimized for the best balance of performance and efficiency. Meaning, earlier firmwares might be tweaked for snapdragon and exynos to perform similarly, but then after the embargo, they diverge and then we experience their true nature. Let's say the exynos gives good numbers but has an occasional "glitch". They fix the glitch at the expense of fps or something. Or the snapdragon is throttled for a few firmwares, and then released later on.

newflesh, 30 Jan 2024The articles may be sponsored but the battery tests here ar... moreI mean look at how bad the S23 FE did 😂
I'm definitely excited to see battery tests plural from multiple outlets for both varieties of S24. As someone in an Exynos market, if the 8G3 isn't actually better than the 2400 in thermals/battery that makes the S24+ a much, much more compelling option than it would otherwise be. If it's just another year of TSMC whooping the Samsung fab - and the way the Ultra is assigned a global Snapdragon seemed to imply it is - then my upgrade path is likely to be to either the S24U or S23U.

At least Samsung allows battery testing to jurnalists, not like Huawei who banned mate60 reviews and battery tests :)

I'd love to see indepenent battery testing of a snapdragon vs exynos S24.
Because we all know that Samsung would like nothing more than convince the world that the Exynos is just as good or better, at any cost. I'd like to believe their claims but they've come up short in the past and shown that they can't be trusted.

I did not know that my phone had 6.4 inch display since last 3 year, lol.
Used to tell everyone that it is 6.2 inches to them who asked.
Just found about my mistake now while comparing my device with this one.

This looks promising. Before buying I will be checking out some independent testing. I mean we know that these articles are sponsored.

LoneOwl, 29 Jan 2024Exynos 2400 is good news mostly for future Pixel devices.
... moreThe Zenfone doesn't have a telephoto. That frees up space inside. Same for the Xperia 5 V (the IV had a telephoto and a 5000mah battery but the sensors were much smaller than the ones on the V).
Also the Zenfone is 3mm thicker.
What Samsung needs to do is make the phone ticker, a 8.5mm thick S24 could fit a few extra mAh

My s24(6.2”) is going back to Samsung.Battery did not last more than 3.5hrs…overnight battery drain was 15-25% with no use or whatsoever. From 100% to 80% dropped in 40 mins.Yes a Exynos still sucks.UK

I didn't follow previous Exynos releases but as far as efficiency goes, the Exynos 2400 looks to be just a bit more efficient as last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 while being a lot more powerful. The Exynos-based S24 Achilles's heel seems to be the modem, which is not good for when you travel. All in all, Samsung has indeed closed the gap to Qualcomm but...not quite. However, the Exynos 2400 does seem to beat the Snapdragon G3 in many gaming benchmarks, thank to AMD graphics technology.

justasmile, 29 Jan 2024Different battery capacities.Yeah, and different chipsets as well, but both are thick and heavy, so a bigger battery along with better battery life should've been part of the S23 FE.
Either way, comparing that FE to many other phones would still make it's battery life trash.

Smaller battery than the Pixel and the S23 FE but has better battery life. Well done Samsung now keep it up for the next few years I knew you could always do it regardless of what all the haters said. To top it off the Exynos does ray tracing better than the Snapdragon, and it doesnt throttle as much either over long periods of gaming.
