Samsung Galaxy S24 battery life test

29 January 2024
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is still in our review pipeline, but we already have the battery test results.

This is surprisingly very good given the battery size. The exynos must be decent efficiency wise. Considering recent midrange phones on this battery test are getting far worse battery life with 5000mAh batteries and far weaker processors it's pretty good really. Kind of expected it to be really bad but I was completely wrong

why is the s24 so inefficient at calling? and then how does it have an extra 4 hours of battery with youtube compared to the s23?
well i mean i guess samsung haters can stop saying 'exystove'

Seems like the Modems are the next step needed in the Exynos revolution, the rest looks alright.

Talk time is 7 hours less than S23. How is that possible?

Why they always write different active use score in the text, compared to the graphics??

Anonymous, 29 Jan 202424+ has scored 12h30min Compared to 13h51m S23+. S24+ has larger battery, but higher resolution screen and Exynos. I'd say the 12h30m mark is about where I'd expect it to sit. Pretty solid result.

The Exynos modem was not only slower, less efficient and received worse signal. I live in an LTE congested area for Verizon and 5G UW is an absolute must. The P7 was certainly better than the P6, but my S23+ blows them away.

Nice to see the Exynos chipset improve it's efficiency though!

                    S24 : 5,50 mAh /minute
                    S23 : 5,67 mAh /minute

cyber, 29 Jan 2024its pathetic, samsung should cease selling those crappy phonesLol what you talking about bud? It's actually pretty good, keeping in mind the 4000mAh battery unit and the fact that previous S series phones had much worse battery life

And that can be exclusively attributed to the modem change from Qualcomm in S23 to Exynos one in S24.

Not bad for an Exynos-based phone with only 4,000 mAh to burn. I think people underestimate Exynos phones sometimes; they're not amazing, but they aren't absolute garbage. I was able to get 12 hours of SoT with my Pixel 6a just by changing my data type to LTE and setting the brightness to 25%.
Kinda off topic but does anyone know if Exynos modems have improved in recent years as far as battery life goes? 5G is a massive battery guzzler on my Pixel and I remember reading about other people having similar issues.

Interesting how it's much worse than iPhone 15
