HyperionBurn, 30 Jan 2024crazy ngl, apple is just being apple hereNo, this is call business. You want access to their customers based? it won't be free. Not sure why folks are expecting it to be. Spotify/Epic also charges their developers to use their platforms, (such hypocrisy).

I've been saying this forever, one way or another Apple will get its cut, no matter what. The only way Apple will not get its cut is to not be on their platform. There is nothing the law makers can do either, unless they are prepared to overhaul the current ip laws. You cannot do anything on iOS without technically using Apple's ip. Whatever the regulators may do Apple will move their fees to another part of the chain.

Apple doesn’t even need to hurt Xbox, because Xbox already does that to itself: questionable market strategies, making rushed games and products for shareholders instead of fans, laying off amazing workers and entire teams to hire cheaper contractors, splitting and rotating teams for cheaper labour (resulting in loss of knowledge of the projects), purposely making things like controllers with worse quality so that they become “consumables”, etc…

              Apple pulling a Unity.

Now will the outrage win this time around?

The Only way to force Apple's hand away from this plan is to make whatever the Devs need public/Open source

                  Outrageous.

Every company wants to be a monopoly at the expense of consumer freedom and competition.

Where there is no competition, there is no capitalism.
