"the two telephoto units have f/3.0 apertures"
If this is true it would be really disappointing for the medium telephoto lens as it used to be a 75 mm F/1.8 lens on top of an imx858 1/2.51" sensor.

If the 3x telephoto lens is only f3 (compared to F1.8 at the 13 Ultra), it may house a big sensor like the Light Hunter 800.

No one shouldn't complain here. Everything is manufactured in China. Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi... if you pay $ 1500 for a Galaxy, Iphone or Xiaomi, you are paying for chinese manufacturing and components. Basically we are paying for a personalized user interface Android (or iOS) software.

Going directly against S24Ultra/512GB which is currently 1300€/SIM-free unlocked in EU. This is going to flop hard in EU. Xiaomi has 1/100th of the ad budget of Samsung.

Invetor, 17 Feb 2024usually I disagree with you, but I agree with you on this o... moreI have tried them all, and I will tell you the truth, I prefer a thousand times the side reader or behind the phone as they came years ago, to an optical reader, the reason why I have endured it on the oneplus9 is that it has different animations and in one It dulls a little that ray of light that these readers shed... perhaps that is the reason why I decided to go back to Samsung even though I no longer like it

Rest of the world: 7 billion. Almost 3 billion in 2 countries next to each other.
Why do you think they will insist in selling there when is much easier to do it in the more populated areas?

I've never used a ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, but I've used side mounted sensor and optical sensor. I find it far more convenient to use the side mounted sensor.
However, the optical sensor I've used is placed quite rather at the bottom of the display. If it was placed at a more convenient position (like in Onepluses, Samsung S2X Ultras and Pixels), I might be okay with it.

Lister, 17 Feb 2024I like the look of this, a solid spec sheet that just needs... moreSoftware was the reason I left Xiaomi behind.
It's not bad, but at this kind of price it should be better, mind you the issue tend to get worse if you use it in a language other than english.
If Samsung didn't push their services so agreasively that software would be pretty solid, but honestly I prefer something between Pixel and Sony, clean where it needs to be, but with extra software.
Again not saying Xiaomi is bad, their hardware is great.
But at these prices it should be better.
