Samsung comes out with a 7-year update policy and they suddenly become pro-repairs? 🤣
Wait till one day a major online storage hack happens and they will turn pro-microsd again too. 🤣

While asus dispelled the rumours about Zenfone line being shut down, I guess this is the end of the compact asus as the restructuring of employees has led zenfone to ROG fold.

And companies, including Samsung, not honoring water resistance on ip68 phones that got "water damaged" despite not being opened up? And that water resistance gets lost the moment repairs are made on the phone?
Xcover phones have 3.5mm jacks and still have water resistance, all while having a removable back cover lmao.

It's just a means to sell their own brand of wireless buds, as shown by all companies, including Fairphone which now sells their own wireless headphones. What a sick joke.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2024Bruh don't be so antagonistic towards people wanting b... moreIt's not a basic feature though? It takes up valuable real estate on the board, in addition to having to engineer a way to keep it water resistant, and is something that a majority of consumers don't care about, so it would be extra unneeded costs to already extremely slim margins.
                >Most basic consumers would rather buy wireless, they are cheap, sound decent for travel and are convenient.
                >Lower income audio focused consumers would rather buy a dongle as the sound quality will be much, much, better than android down-sampling.
                >Higher income audio focused consumers would rather buy a dedicated DAP, or listen to music on a home stereo with a combination of the previous two.
If you are using 3.5mm headphones on an android device, why? It sounds bad so don't give me that "le audiophile" argument, even the LG V series sounded mediocre compared to budget dongles. It's not *more* convenient, because you are just plugging something in, you can do that with a dongle too, its just a different shaped plug.
The only reason people like you would want a 3.5mm jack is because you are too poor to afford any of the solutions aka you are someone very unlikely to buy this phone in the first place so catering to your demographic is pointless.

Yeah, but.. well, most people can see the difference between 60hz and 120hz, and especially 90hz and 120hz. After having used 120hz, going back to 90hz, to me, just feels like my phone is trying to go up to 120hz, but it's lagging while doing so.

This is probably the first launch date I guessed correctly. I think the compact version will come later.

Not impressed by the camera setup and display resolution for a device with the word "ultra" in its name.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2024Its so stupid but its sell the most, so maybe its not stupi... moreIt sells more because its cheaper to keep everything in a bigger body and because large phones are literally the only mainstream option consumers can purchase.

Please launch in India also, I love Asus phones , best hardware and clean OS, fantastic thing is 3.5 mm headphone jack for outstanding audio latency while gaming. So many users are tired of so many brands, i have Pixel 7a which is great in terms of software , but hardware is made just for UI and is worst for gaming, so looking forward it to be release in India.
