iPhone 17 and 17 Plus to get 120Hz displays with Always-on

27 February 2024
It all depends on BOE's ability to ramp up production in time.

Meanwhile, A15 gets 90hz. Come on, panels are not that expensive anymore. It's like 30 max for one. I know Apple can afford it but choose to stretch it out because they like customers not knowing price to performance ratios.

    X to doubt

So iphone 16 will have 60hz display? In q4 2024?! For 1000€?! They don't deserve to sell 1 phone with that display.

awesome, now lets talk bout galaxy s26 ultra

          Now bring USB 3.1

This first 120hz display panel ever in a smartphone 😱

All of sudden people will no longer be justifying 60hz panels ... I wonder why

                  >This has been a reason for complaints from owners for some time now.

No, it has been a complaint from people who don’t own it. Those that think it‘s important enough spent the extra for the 15 Pro, or chose an older Pro like 13 Pro or 14 Pro.

Best thing about this will be that the tech community stops complaining. But to be honest, it really is the last thing I‘d feel missing when choosing for example a 15 over a Pro. The rest of the differences are insignificant. Probably AF on ultrawide for macro would be nice too, but I think that one is only a matter of time as well.

                      Innovation 🤩🤩🤩

potato4k, 27 Feb 2024This is already known even before the Dynamic Island was in... moreYou didn't read correctly, right? In addition, they have been using Boe panels for a long time, what happens is that Boe cannot handle the high demand for panels from the pro series, which is what Apple sells the most and diapers for other manufacturers as well, it is a lot of pressure.

This is already known even before the Dynamic Island was introduced.
The question is, whether Apple is sticking with BOE or not, even after they tried to cheat Apple. Personally, I wouldn’t want to pay Apple price for a BOE screen.

Should've been earlier considering the price of the base models, but better late than never, I guess.

Since I speak well of Apple and sometimes of Samsung, in that case I speak badly!! Come on Apple, you should have done this for a long time and not in the future...
