Darth Caesium, 28 Feb 2024Honestly, you know what? This is a completely garbage take.... moreThis is a great take, but completely falls apart when you actually think about it. For foldables, space is extremely limited. If they don't have enough space for a big battery, what makes you think they have the space for a massive camera system?

"There is still no slot for an S Pen"
Don't understand why you keep expecting them to add it. It would render Ultra even more pointless.
Ultras selling points: Cameras and S Pen
Fold selling points: it folds

What happened to them? They're gone. You cannot afford to not innovate, because you might have to then play catch-up in the longer run. As Intel's former CEO Andy Grove said, "Only the paranoid survive." If you are ahead of the competition, like Samsung was until relatively recently, you should continue to innovate, because by the time the competition has caught up to the state that you were in, you'll be so far ahead of them that it'll be a bloodbath for them. The moment you become complacent, you are making yourself very vulnerable, and that is what has happened to Samsung. It will only take one company to knock Samsung down for them to finally wake up, and by then, they will no longer have such a large market share. I have no clue if they will fail like Nokia or BlackBerry did, but I can say for sure that they at least will not have the kind of large market share that they currently hold.

You think they are oblivious to what the competition does and to what people on the internet say? You think no one over there had the idea of integrating an s pen, switching the cameras, changing the form factor, etc? No one is forcing you to buy a z fold, you can look at what competitors have or just buy a normal candy bar phone. The fact that Samsung deliberately chooses to release a minor refresh is a calculated decision, something they believe will benefit them in the long run. I for one am also disappointed, but at the end of the day they are just phones and there are other alternatives.

it is a thick device so, I would expect only the inner edges to be sharp and outer edges to be roundish like a laptop. in addition, outer screen should be 21:9. inner crease should be much less visible like on oneplus open.

Same phone since Fold 3, but at least it's bigger, external aspect ratio is more usable and it's thinner. I mean, nothing compared to OnePlus and Xiaomi, but at least it's something. I expected exactly the same screen from previous generations, tbh.

The foldable factor makes it expensive. Look at the "cheapest" foldable, its a flip type, not a fold one.
And you could just buy the fold months after launch for a discounted price...

Please do not compare brands like Xiaomi and Apple. Xiaomi has devices in range from $100 to $1700. Compare only devices in the same price range. It's that simple. The only problem is that Apple plays it safe just like Audi or BMW. They don't make cheap phones nor cars like minivans or pickups. It's almost impossible to cut costs and still keep the quality

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2024Doesnt samsung make case to attach pen like apple does? Yes, but if I'm going to have to use a case that adds quite some bulk, why not just make the phone thicker instead so that it can have a dedicated S-Pen slot? It's a useless compromise that leads to a worse experience instead.

GAMIR3DH, 28 Feb 2024Ok this is even better! The only thing i wish it had were ... moreHonestly, you know what? This is a completely garbage take. We're speaking about a $1,700 phone. If said phone cannot have all the bells and whistles of a flagship phone that is $600 cheaper than it, and doesn't do so year after year, then there's no excuse for a real lack of innovation, and the phone is trash. If foldables have to be this expensive, then they must have as little compromises as possible, and this one has way too many to even come close.

they want it to look like the flagship s24 ultra and that's honestly sucks sharp edges isn't comfortable and leaves some marks on your hand if you use it for so long
