The M1 was such a leap and still insane speed and power for wattage. 90% of people don't edit anything except word documents. Most people wanting to upgrade now are on a M1. Period. These ain't phones. Lol. People don't upgrade their laptop after a year. So why would apple sit there and make charts for people who are not even in the market forba new device? They are talking to people with a M1. No some nerd on YouTube salivating over clock speed ect. They are talking to people who use mac's. Not you.

Windows is better. You can find a 1TB/16GB RAM laptop for about less or the same price. OS is visually pleasing but still functions bad. I tried Monterey and it's okay, just didn't have all of the apps I wanted to have on it + it's confusing to navigate settings (one setting would be in a entirely different category than it should) and so on.
Windows laptops is better, Apple is scamming you like, 8GB of RAM for 999 in 2024?? Hell no, they manipulate users with gibberish and crazy comparisons (yea, comparing a 5 year old Intel chip to a SoC is very fair!)

The big news here is that Apple finally have a pre-configured model with 16GB of RAM. This mean you can finally buy a MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM at resellers outside Apple. Previously, it's a BTO only.

If you don't need ray tracing the MacBook Air M2 should serve you well. It's still selling on Apple's website for 999$.

I love how apple use manipulation and vague points to try and make it sound far better than it is.
Why are they comparing the m3 to the m1 when the m2 and m2u exsist and probably have maybe 10% difference in probably just single core and multi core scores vs the standard m2 (which isnt everything in performance but apple love vagueness).
Also the "up to 2x the resolution of comparable windows Pc laptops" what even is that infomation lol, thats literal jibberish. Other laptops can have 4k-5k monitors hooked up to them lol and guess what, can also play games without issues too and usually can easily replace ram sticks and storage so again, apple BS alert.
Also also why is it comparing itself to like a 5-7 year old intel based mac when intel wasnt doing well at all at that point in time and 13x the performance, again insanely vague, 13 times the performance in what exactly?
Rest of the specs are in line/worse than what windows based laptops can offer/do offer at that price point, it looks sleek, will have good speakers and if youre in the apple ecosystem probably is worth it but the apple BS train is going strong still and they still love giving essentially half truth/vague infomation lol.

IpsDisplay, 04 Mar 2024No windows OS no buyNot sure how those M chips but you were able to install Windows before. I had a teacher at university that was running Windows 7 I think on his MacBook.
