Weekly poll: would you buy the Nothing Phone (2a)?

10 March 2024
This is the first true mid-ranger from the company and is priced accordingly, but it still brings some of the advanced features of its pricier sibling.

I would never buy a phone with punch hole or notch...

Its a good deal with specs its launching with but at a wrong time as some other phone are coming in next few days with similar specs and at less price like IQOO Z9 5g.

Its a pretty good phone for the price, but if updates are not your main priority, then there are better options out there

I prefer camera on Pixel 7a even their design always looks bland

No thanks, there is nothing special about it, apart from the gimmicky design.

The honor x9b is a better phone. While it does not have a gimmicky lights feature BUT it does have a couple of very useful features, a bigger battery and screen protection on front, while the gimmick fancy lights don't really solve any problems with the smartphone. And for that reason I can't even consider the nothing phone 2a as my next phone at whatever price point

PureOS, 10 Mar 2024I can afford flagship and i has many of them. But now I... moreYou can always buy a old flagship. Is way better than this.

                No. Horrible camera ❌

If this phone were available in my country for the price in India and I was looking for a midranger, I'd have bought this without any hesitation. I'm so tempted to get a phone like this as my next one as I'm quite disappointed after getting a flagship but I really wanna wait a year or so and see Nothing's next phones and how they improve. If they have a good 2-3.5x telephoto lens and a good portrait option I'm getting a Nothing Phone, if it is priced properly ofc like this one.

I'd love to but. First of all, the phone itself is not available officially in my country.
Second, the price plus tax will get me a better phone and better aftersales service.

Poco X6 Pro is way better than this 🗑️

No because Poco X6 Pro exists.

yess, one of the best mid ranger on the market.. A lot of people here seem to buy phones because of the brand name without knowing what the specs are, this is clearly nice mid range phone.

I mean, it's a £320 phone that still has 8GB of RAM, with a version that has 12GB of RAM and double the storage for only £30 more. It also has good enough cameras and a fine enough processor for the price range. The only glaring problem is the IP54 rating as opposed to IP67. This is objectively good for the price, no matter how you might feel about the company itself or its ugly duckling aesthetics. They need to improve the camera software a lot though.

At the end of the day, though, if anything, this shows that the £550 base price tag of the Nothing Phone 2 is really bad value when the Nothing Phone 2a has very similar specs for half the price. The Nothing Phone 2 should've had a bigger ultrawide at the very least, like one that uses the Sony IMX858; and a 3× telephoto, again maybe with the Sony IMX858. The selfie camera should've also been better, maybe using that particular Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor that they'd instead used for the ultrawide. The screen should've also been something like 1260p or 1440p instead of 1080p. Finally, why the hell did they not make this IP68 and instead had IP54?

Nope, I don't buy midranger anyways. Last mistake I did was Nothing 1.
