I would imagine these are normal people who just do reviews on there experience and know about tech as much any other people who are interested in tech. These people are not even programmers to know inside out of every software. They just do research by the info they find in the internet just like any other can do it.

Well hope the Apple get so big fines they will do better if they close its bussines for once and for all.
Had enough of their shady practicies.
Banning them for good is the only solution.

                            2. Is Apple the only smartphone maker in the world? No. It's not even the majority of marketshare. Android existed for a reason.

In short, EU scrutinizing a contract between 2 companies, and siding with the one who was actively breaking the contract, is beyond suspicious.

potato4k, 08 Mar 2024First, one should question why the EU is meddling into a co... moreSmartphones are essential devices for everyone. In many countries, it is factually required to have a smartphone to be able to do basic things in your life. Apple in particular explicitly says that their devices should replace your IDs and more.
Smartphones, especially iPhones cost around 1000 € and more. You don’t buy one every day. And in case of Apple, you often are indirectly forced to stay with them because of related devices you have purchased which won’t work with an Android devices if you switched to them.

Given my first two arguments, Apple should not be allowed to discriminate neither software providers nor their users. This is protection of the investment EU citizens and EU companies. If Apple ignored this, they should be banned by EU. That simple is it and I expect this from our legislators and governments.

This means it is no longer a question of business between two companies. Apple cannot deny a company up to 50% or more of potential customers. And Apple cannot deny 100% of its customers who have paid lots of money access to a product which would perfectly run on their devices just because Apple wants a cut from the revenue of the actual producer of the product.
Epic did not comply with the original Apple terms and could not sell its products to iOS users. But the rules have changed, also thanks to Epic.

You gotta love EU these days

First, one should question why the EU is meddling into a contract between two companies that have nothing to do with any public interest. This is not Apple banning a health institution or public sector account. It's for a company making gambling games for kids.

Second, Epic games was the one breaking the agreement in the contract to begin with. Apple didn't do anything different beforehand. The one who should be scrutinized should've been Epic Games, on why they intentionally breaking the agreement.
