Ayooo. It's Sony's turn for drip feed news/leaks. What's your next guess? Casing pictures or camera module layouts? 😏

The price and short software support make Sony phones unpalatable. It's a shame, as they're lovely.

TechJocky, 11 Mar 2024I believe in Sony's UI which is light and well optimized. Needs more features like touchwiz, then you need more Ram. ♧◇♡

Sony going the way of LG. Giving headphone jack and microSD when others are removing, but choosing to make baffling decisions like absolutely refusing to give more RAM on flagship phones, refusing the fix their throttling problems and refusing to use a modern display.
Oh and removing the telephoto camera from the 5 series.
Is it stupidity or hubris I wonder.
They'll pull out of the phone market like cowards within the next 2 years. Same as LG, OG Nokia and Meizu. Cut their nose off to spite their faces.

So they are still going to offer a UFS 3.1 storage option on their 2024 flagship, just like they did last year and the same way Samsung did with the S24. That's rather greedy.

Only 8GB of RAM on the 5 V and now according to this leak most likely even on the 5 VI as well isn't only disappointing, but not enough and not flagship level at all, definitely not competitive.

I will buy an Xperia WHEN they give more than 2 years of updates.

I like Sony smartphones, but they are so late to the running, their last flagship is SD 8 Gen 2. Gen 4 is close to be released, but they will definitely release with Gen 3 still.

Update guarantee is the most important aspect for me. If it's less than 5 years, I will skip again.
