        These phones are competition for POCO and maybe Xiaomi Redmi. No one will pay for the brand itself. Sony loses in cameras to Huawei, Honor, iPhone, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo. Where does this price come from?

        What is Sony missing, need to bo fix, upgrade:
        - only get 2 years of OS updates vs 5/7 years of other companies
        - Fingerprint issues
        - Face detection
        - Telephoto lens on the Xperia 5 series
        - Front camera is junk
        - Bring back the notification LED
        - Quad-dac,
        - Wacom stylus support,
        - Dual apps
        - Custom button
        - Multiple audio sources to be played
        - Sony's own Album app
        - Exmor T dual layer sensor for all cameras, ultrawide and telephoto included
        - Full Camera2 API and CameraX API support
        - Digital zoom at least up to 30x
        - Digital zoom on the front camera
        - Built-in ND filter

        Lower/more competitive pricing, Pre-orders like Google/Samsung (discounts, Trade in deals aka Samsung). Otherwise Sony will remain a curiosity only in Japan market and in 1-2 series it will disappear from the market like LG.

            Still have not change name to Oled. Why?

            You get mad because sony uses imx888 aka LYT800 instead of old tech Exmor RS imx989 just because xiaomi does not have access to exmor T. And not will.
            Imx888 has 90-92% light sensitivity of Type 1.0 while using much less space, generates less heat and does not demand huge thick ugly bump.

            But somehow you do not want this. You want old tech imx989 instead when imx989 does not have what sony electronics want.

            In case you still do not know, only takes 1/1.28" exmor T to match Type 1.0.
            The 1/1.14" exmor T of iphone 16 Pro is easily 12-15% stronger than Type 1.0 despite being still smaller.

            Person that claims to be in favor of new tech, bashes who is using the latest.

            So, instead of asking sony semicon to make type 1.0 exmor T, you beloved xiaomi is gonna buy 4/3 from omnivision that is inferior just because it is cheaper.

            Phone that will be costing €1700 should have best components available.

                  If Sony changes its phone's aspect ratio to be more like that of Samsung or Apple, I will be more interested in them.

                    I rather see Sony use a better quality display on the Mark 5 (yes that one only) because after multiple generations, you still have a flip a coin chance of the screen getting a green line, and Sony their warranty for phones is kinda "meh"

But same ppl bash now phones that have today 800-1000. To them these are impossible to use outdoors (I have used few phones with less than 500 with zero issues).

                            How stereo speakers and IP rating got label gimmick before samsung had both with S8. Now are "must have".

                                    flop, 11 Mar 2024Since when is 8GB of ram a disappointment? What a nitpick! When your Android/app updates gets bloated like what happened to my LG with 8gb ram. Phone was still as fast when it was Android 10 ootb and now with Android 13 as last update.

                                    But with latest version, some apps like Brave Browser now start to refresh when you leave them in the background and go back to them. Thankfully, downloads and background plays are not affected. But the website refresh sucks.
