PS Vita was launched in 2011-12. The switch was released around 2017. That's not "just shortly" after, especially considering the rapid advancement in technology between those years.

Nah they'll have to eventually or the EU will kick them out of the European market if they don't provide 5yrs of updates by 2025.regarding the company their update policy is still better than some other android makers out there ever heard of a company called LAVA ? They (lava) don't even promise OS updates just quarterly patches for an example.
