Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 rumored to be quite expensive in India

Hopefully this doesn't pan out, but if it does - Samsung has its work cut out getting these in the hands of many.

            That A35 is crazily expensive. I bought my A34 for approx USD 210 (I'm not from US) on Sep 2023.

              3.5mm jack!
              Bigger and brighter screen
              Better camera (At least when it comes to zooming).
              Galaxy is only better in IP rating.

                  Can someone tell me why samsung has been rising its prices since they ‘standardized’ this design across their lineup? That for sure doesn’t increase the manufacturing costs (should be the other way around)

                  My theory it’s that since the design is more or less the same between the flagship and the low/mid end, more people feel comfortable using the latter, so they need to compensate it somehow

                      Not surprised at all, Samsung has premium brand image.

                      If i was a poor Indian, i may buy cheap chinese phone that looks like a toy.

                        Better to buy s23 fe or refurbished s23 near about same price from reliable stores

                            I dunno about indian currency so I dont have idea, but here they are cost the same as their predecessor, both the A35 and A55 have the same price as the A34 and A54 respectively except for the A55 12GB since the A54 doesnt have 12GB option
                            but still considering the competition they are still very overpriced considering samsung doesnt bundled the charger, case and screen protector applied in the box unlike the competition, also they are to greedy in raking profits since at this price range, the 128GB are already long obsolete they are now replacing them with the base of 256GB and offering the new 512GB option instead, so samsung offering the A55 a 12/256 is too late for a decade they should put the A35 with options of 8/256 and 8/512 while the A55 with 8/256 and 12/512

                                The main reason for buying their device is the software update policy. Which does maintain the device well.

                                For instance, the newest firmware update of 24u made it the best go-for camera phone from just a meh upgrade in the beginning.

                                  Warranty? Samsung's warranty? They usually reject everything if the phone even has a tiny scratch on it, I'd rather have no warranty.

                                  "You can buy a Xiaomi, RealMe, Oppo etc but you will not find a single accessory (eg a case) for them, only get 1 year warranty.."

                                  It is mandatory to give at least 2 years of warranty on products in Europe, so that's a no.

I always used Galaxy flagships, so I wouldn't even have considered A51 or A52 in the past, as they looked like plastic junk to me. But now I seriously think about buying A55. It's a nice middle ground between flagship price insanity and plastic junk china phones.

                                      Chinese brands have much more widespread availability,Service centres,Accessories here in india compared to EU.
                                      Also you can find many phones with 3 years OS updates & thats just 1 step behind Samsung so again not much of a difference.

                                      Only thing goes for Samsung is their brand image & UI.
                                      Otherwise Samsung is clearly inferior in respective price range compared to chines brands & Nothing.

                                        Not at all.
                                        This device is not just expensive,it's clearly overpriced.
                                        For similar price you can easily get better or far better devices.

                                        *OnePlus 12R with far better performance,display for 38k.
                                        *Nothing Phone 2 for 34k...only lesser IP rating & 1 year less OS updates in Nothing 2 otherwise its superior in every other aspect.
                                        *Samsung's own S23FE is currently at 39k so again much better device in all aspects & remember OneUI in A-series skips many useful features from S series.
                                        *iQoo 12 is for 51k...flagship build,display,camera,performance,3 OS Updates...easily crushes A55 in every aspect for just 8-9k more.
