farewell Symbian! I will keep my faithful C7 for as long as it works and then off to the next platform. Although a photography lover, I will not buy 808, an otherwise gr8 but "d.o.a." product with no further support whatsoever...

My N8 is still getting updates and I'll keep on using it until it's beyond any repair or I get the 808. I have all the functions I need, a great camera and it's still the best looking OS out there. I tried the others, returned them and never missed them but I can't stop using Symbian. Nokia's loss.

I had 7650, 6600, 6630, 6680, N73, N82, N8 and now 808 PV... I cant imagine phone market without symbian phones... Nokia had MeeGo, had Symbian Belle with Carla and Donna in development, they had milions and milions of active symbian users... they are now 90% on other OS-es than WP...

Symbian is dead, long live Symbian!

AnonD-30796, 13 Jun 2013What a heck are you talking about... symbian??? is a flop, ... moreYour Symbian device is very old and it's MUCH different from last Belle-devices. For example, I have Nokia 5230, Nokia 701 and 808. I can't even compare 5230 (S60 5th) to my 808 Pureview with the Belle FP2. I feel so bad when I read comments which arguments are based on ancient Symbian devices, like E72.

nokia could really benefit from going with android, is nokias agreement with microsoft that they cant use anything but microsof and/or symbian?

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2013Wow. 22 months to develop a Symbian phone compared to 12 mo... moreThe train wreck is elop who destroyed what nokia had in past (symbian) and their future (meego) to choose the backwards and unpopular os (WP).

Nokia really deserves their predicament right now. Heck, even HTC manages to profit in a very competitive android platform.

Man I am left with no words.
In a way we can say the software which was ruler of market few years back has to give away its kingdom to other os's. Nokia is facing such a moment because they didn't accept the change, the change of android and now they are left miles behind. I also think that bringing a lumia phone is not that much good as to bring an android phone.

What a heck are you talking about... symbian??? is a flop, it was really good like 6 years ago when it didnt have any competition. Be realistic, ok it dont need strong spec. but it is far behind android, and ios. i am writing this because i still use android AND NOKIA E72. everything that i do on symbian is super easier on android.

Now Nokia should think of a replacement offer for those people who currently have Symbian phones, other wise they'll risk loosing them to other vendors.
