Seen old foldables still working fine to this day.
Also, remove the screen protector to get the UTG part of it that is less scratchable.

If the Pro was Global, I reckon it would be a smash hit (with Funtouch OS).

That battery capacity and weight combo, with an efficient processor and good camera is exactly what we've been waiting for.

i'd pay 800 for the fold 3 but i dunno about you all, but that would be a far reasonable price for the non pro model and it's a cool looking phone.

At this segment, the key is software, especially in regards to productivity. I can get a great laptop at the prices of these foldables, so if I were to buy them, no matter the brand, they better be able to replace my laptop. And so far, Samsung is the only one that is close to that point thanks to OneUI and Dex. It is still limited though, mainly because Google is ignoring Android on a larger screen like tablets/desktops.

FuntouchOS is alright, but I don't see it being a productive OS for a foldable, so I doubt that a Vivo foldable would do more than a standard slab phone.

Without real productivity feature like Dex, these foldables are simply becoming a very expensive phone, and when you are in that segment, the iPhone is king in terms of brand. I mean why would I spend that much money for a Vivo foldable that cannot replace my laptop, and worse, is less durable, when I can just get an iPhone?

Of course if i had the money

I wouldn't want a foldable yet, their inner screens are very prone to scratching and could potentially spoil in just 1 year.

Won't buy, but I love what Vivo did here. The pressure is on Huawei and Honor. I expect Vivo's market share to double at a minimum in '24.

These have sadly become niche features that the average consumer doesn't need. Nothing we can do. It's sad to me that phones called "Ultra" lack basic features but what can we do man? The market dictates the product and 90% of consumers are slaves to corporations and follow whatever the next big thing in marketing is and whatever other people are doing. Instagram influencers are a perfect example of what's wrong with most people nowadays.

Let's go! The Pro variant looks really promising for me. I'd love to get it if it was sold in the UK, which I don't think will happen outside of grey market imports. Like, I'd want to get it on a contract because I can't justify splurging £1,700 on a phone in one go. It would probably stay as a secondary device, but this seems like it has only very few compromises, all of which are very minor. It seems awesome to me in just about every way.

FunTouch OS is a lot like stock Android, it's very clean but very boring, there is nothing really wrong with it, but there is really nothing special about it either, so yes it's inferior to OriginOS, which both the X Fold3 and the Pro come with, at least the chinese versions. China versions of vivo phones work perfectly outside of China as well, you just have to make sure that the bands they support are compatible with your choice of carrier.
