Why is WhatsApp still like the only app which doesn't let you toggle on/off this stuff? Just like the swipe-on-messages which replaced the older way to select messages and doesn't let me just use both.

old nav was good and with every update WhatsApp is just ruining user experience entirely.
1. channels - waste crap
2. status change - ruined it
3. nav change
with every change they bring it's rather making WhatsApp worse.

christfild, 31 Mar 2024i have this for weeks too. maybe the rolled late for europe. I'm in Europe. I've had this bottom navbar for at least 3 weeks

Had this in the UK for maybe over a week now. Thank god it's dark on dark mode, and not glaring white.
