No more black, white, purple ..

          Other are ones that need to change. They need to reduce sharpening, get rid of too much noise reduction, fix the colors. There is no surprise a Canon from 2007 with 1/1.8" can wipe the floor with €1500 mi ultra.

            8sg3 has newest cores. There is no way it is cheaper than 8g2.
            Phones with it are gonna be cheaper (except motorola) because amount of cost cuts are huge.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 already cost about $200 and the next-gen successor with custom Nuvia CPU is going to be even costlier than before*. So I can understand why Sony is trying to cut some cost for the hardware, especially when the price for Xperia 1 series has pretty much remains the same for couple of years. I'd be surprised if Sony manage to keep the same price tag for the upcoming Mk6 model despite the BoM price increase. Even Samsung cannot get away from it.

                        Not sure how disappointing this is since Sony has been doing it for three years between Mk2 Xperia 1 and Mk4 Xperia 1. Also, it's not like Sony is the only brand doing this. *stares at iPhone*

                              Cuts are gonna be done .... This is why you see phones in 2024 that are 97% similar to previous gen.

                              8g4 is even more expensive because of 3nm fab.

                              Thanks to all those that want stronger and more expensive SoC because they need to use cellphones as console.

                                    Poor Sony selling overpriced phones that receives 2 OS updates a year, good luck competing with chinese phones

                                      Sony exact camera like predecessor, Xiaomi exact camera like predecessor, Samsung too, and of course Apple.. Flagship no longer has any upgrades in the camera, now give this hardware to the mid range.
