Anonymous, 16 Apr 2024it can do it. doesn't mean that's what devs will ... moreWhen you're going to use a game to try and prove a point dont use a budget, indie dev looking game that even pc hardware from 2014 could run without any issues at 4k lol (which again, ps upscales basically every time to achieve "4k", it cant even run FF rebirth at native 4k 60fps and thats been the case for 99.5% of AAA titles).

There are other ... moreSo a what, 8 year old game that my phone could run at 4k 60 without any issues (sd 888) and my old rig with an i7 3770k and a gtx 1070 could run at 120fps+ at 4k, thats really not an achievement matey, plus thats what i exactly said, i said it could do a couple games and it wouldn't be native either, rememeber PS uses a lower res and just upscales 95% of the time.
No it just couldnt do 8k, they sold it saying it could 8k game, had on the box "4k 120fps" "8k", its gpu is equivalent to roughly an rtx 2080 and that hasnt got the power to run any game in 8k nor games at 4k 120fps (atleast not anymore). Like them releasing it witg unoptimised hardware that couldnt do VRR on release (and handle UW monitors well, my mate struggled bad when he got one and we lived together).

As for 8K(4320p), the console can technically display at that resolution, but they never updated it to support it since there aren't enough games that utilize it natively.

BigBingusBingingMan, 15 Apr 2024I have a really old PS3 and it wont read discs no more, I k... morei see you own a PS3 super slim version. they are notorious for the exposed laser assembly. may need replacing if you can get the repairman fixed it for you. anyway, i happen to have PS3. got the slim version from my older brother. still enjoyed to this very day. only cons i can't get it online, but still didn't stop me from playing blur, gta iv and v. it's a miracle to avoid the PS3 super slim.

i'm glad they still keep the disc drive because what's the point of being "Pro" without more features?
in other ways, this console could technically be used as a 4K bluray player.

But remember to keep the circuit board of the old disc drive because they are paired with the motherboard.

BigBingusBingingMan, 15 Apr 2024I have a really old PS3 and it wont read discs no more, I k... moreAs long as you have a working hard drive and power supply, you can fire up that PS3 without hitch, also you can easily softmod it and install games directly into the HDD so you can forgo the disc drive entirely, even better if you have a BD drive so you just can dump your game discs and transfer them via FTP to the console.

I hope you can find a guy to get this done.

Didnt they promote the ps5 on release saying "can do 8k, can do 4k 120fps" yet cant do either and never has bar about 2 games on release (4k, probably with variable resolution). For it to do what theyre saying they'll need more than just the small incremental upgrade which about makes up for the development in gaming since the release of the ps5.
Realistically it needs to go from roughly an rtx 2080 to atleast rtx 3080 levels to consistently keep atlast 4k 60fps with ray tracing and thats not thinking about 8k lol, and thats without thinking about the new cards coming out. 3.5ghz on essentially a zen 2 cpu on the ps5 aswell (its basically a ryzen 7 2700) which again would need to up it to atleast a 4 series ryzen equivalent to do what they want and i cant see it happening (they messed up with the original hardware by not letting the hardware be properly developed which xbox didnt do/have).

Higher FPS is always good progress, but I bet developers use the Pro to get nicer visuals. Blah.
