For a second there I was a bit critical about their naming For the three non-folding phones. But then I remembered that up until about Pixel 6 (2021), they used to use XL to represent the larger phone. Then they switched to using the term pro to represent the larger phone. And then after the Pixel 4 (2019), they started using the letter "a" to represent the cheaper model.
        So now the Pixel 9 = "#a" phone, Pixel 9 Pro=Regular, Pixel 9 Pro XL = "XL/Pro" model.
But yeah, the Pixel 9 XL fold, should just be Pixel 9 Fold

Let's use the whole potential of phone's hardware to kill it with playing COD Mobile or some other demanding 3d gaming titles... Because why not? Phone can be everything so why not a gaming console? How else could i use all that processing power? For AI? For oppening camera 0.33 secs faster? Yay. Peo

Just mention the famous accessories and mega ultra charging speeds with non-standardised power bricks and cabels. Yes! That's what I call is a helpfull comment. Thank you!

Also Xiaomi has zillion devices per year and this one only 3 or 4, but who cares right? Let's dump on them just because they use a "PRO" moniker...

            Lmao

Just spit my coffee. Ev en Xiaomi naming is not this confusing.
Disgusting google. Hope for a really pro specs insluding 150W chaging speeds or better plus all required accesories on the box.

Why the "Pixel 9 Pro Fold" and not just the "Pixel 9 Fold"? Why do phone companies think that slapping the "Pro" moniker on a phone makes it any more appealing?

Wesker, 16 Apr 2024Would be the first foldable to FINALLY bridge the gap in im... moreYeah huawei and xiaomi and oppo already have done that matey on foldables. Not all companies do a samsung or apple and offer massively inferior hardware on their foldables/base flagships (s24 vs s24U, iphone 15 vs iphone 15PM as examples).

So there's going to be 4 phones in the Pixel number series now... huh.

Probably would've been better if they just called it the "Pixel 9 Fold".

Samsung has another problem, it's doesn't matter do you use auto settings or manual, because it's too sharpy and noisy.

YUKI93, 16 Apr 2024"...Sony can create good camera sensors, but can'... moreIt is trivial to find blurry photos taken on an Xperia on social media sites. When I would play frisbee with my dog, easily half of the quick action shots were out-of-focus if I quick-opened and snapped a basic mode shot.

It is also easy to land in the wrong exposure depending on what mode you use. Sure, that is usually fixable in LR/Snapseed/whatever, but other cameras get it more correct before user adjustments even if their dynamic range is lower or noise is higher or distortion artifacts are more extreme.

Focus selection on an Xperia does not always stick. Changing the focus and other settings is a huge pain because it's all on a touch screen, while a standard camera has buttons, knobs, and levers plus a touch screen. Xiaomi is trying to bridge the gap with its grip add-on. Sony goes a different direction with the Vlog-Monitor. Honestly, I'm not going to traipse around with a big handle and small screen attached to my portable, pocket-sized, screen-having telephone.

The coloration between lenses is absurd. Sure, there are differences due to physics, but then use a LUT to return the color to natural just as you would use a matrix to fix lens distortion on even a GM lens.

And then the fanboys jump in to defend objectively bad output. The hypocrisy is the worst part.

Would be the first foldable to FINALLY bridge the gap in image quality with candy bar flagships. Except I can't see them pull that off without asking 2000 dollars or more.

Foldables have been carrying mid-range camera hardware since day one to keep costs down, believe it or not.

Only exception was Mate X, but it was doomed without Google onboard. At least this Pixel doesn't look like an half-baked prototype with bezels from the last decade, which is a step in the right direction.

However asking 2000 but still carrying that mid-range rebadged exynos would be an heresy.

Changing name so that they can charge more?
                                  Now only 1,999€! :D
