Say goodbye to the Google Pixel Fold 2 and hello to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold

There has been a naming scheme revamp internally at Google, a new report claims.

Would be the first foldable to FINALLY bridge the gap in image quality with candy bar flagships. Except I can't see them pull that off without asking 2000 dollars or more.

Foldables have been carrying mid-range camera hardware since day one to keep costs down, believe it or not.

Only exception was Mate X, but it was doomed without Google onboard. At least this Pixel doesn't look like an half-baked prototype with bezels from the last decade, which is a step in the right direction.

However asking 2000 but still carrying that mid-range rebadged exynos would be an heresy.

    Changing name so that they can charge more?
    Now only 1,999€! :D

            I follow real techies who own Sony phones*, and what you said there really doesn't hold water. Just because a photo from another smartphone's camera has more saturation doesn't mean it's the better-looking one.

              I waited for a smaller pixel pro for years but when I received the P8 I found the screen smaller than the P7, so with the telephoto lens plus the pro photo settings I went for the P8P and didnt regret it. it's a bit too big in a pocket thoughbut I'm afraid Google will bump up the price again for the P9PXL

                      Weak hardware, buggy software.
                      I have no idea why pixels have so many bugs after release.
                      It looks like Sony's problem, Sony can create good camera sensors, but can't create good cameraphones with them. Google can create android, but can't create smartphones with android.

                                        I don't think they will switch to snapdragon anytime soon, they would have done it already after the pixel 6, starting with the pixel 7. They have negotiations with samsung chips so they will keep using custom exynos (tensor) for a good while.
