Youtube is becoming more disgusting, they are too greedy for whats matters

mitch, 16 Apr 2024Imagine that you dev an app, you let the user decide to pay... moreYoutube was first a web site for video streaming then that made an app for mobile devices.
Also youtube dont create the content that is in the app as for that is users who creat the content. While users have no freedom of speech and rules change daily and they can lose the income if they touch wrong topic or someone just report them. It's really hard to actually make money for users in that platform and then Youtube just takes there money away while still adds there ads in there and use makes money out of the users who have large amount of fallowers.

Without the users who creat content there wont be a youtube and there wont be people who visit the site as they on their own dont actually create anything

Also the ads take a lot of data from people who have limited data on there contract. For people who have unlimited data that is not a problem. Now think if you watch a 5 minute video and get ads like every 30 seconds so you basically get 10 ads that is 150 seconds minimum that is basically 2 minutes 30 seconds that can be like 100mb of data or even more for nothing

EskeRahn, 16 Apr 2024We really need a totally new system allowing people to pay ... moreApples to Oranges.
You pay to get access to the article, you couldnt read the article with ads.
You have access to Youtube for free, you just have to endure a couple ads once or twice a month.

EskeRahn, 16 Apr 2024We really need a totally new system allowing people to pay ... moreI have used ad-blockers for many many years. BUT I would pay if there were a fairly priced way to reward the content creator/site owner, in a simple way.

To simplify it might be made prepaying a buffer of your choosing, with optional automatic refill of the chosen size.

The system could even make sure the income could be taxed locally, and not in some tax-haven with a low rate...

Though this would require a change in the way pages are built to not refer to a specific ad-broker, but to client-site take the ad-broker the user has selected in the browser to handle the transaction. It could be that the sender would need some ticket from the ad broker acknowledging the transaction, before sending the actual page. This way an ad blocker could not just ignore it, as the page was not available before the charge was accepted.

The YouTube has all the time to crackdown on the app's which are ad free but forgets why they are popular due to ads which were once bearable like 30 secs nd max 2-4 ads in a full video irrespective of length and now it's other way round plus if it wants so much to support creators why not reduce the amount of pie getting from the creators. The law may be on their side but the anti competition practices should be taking actions against such a company. No doubt ad blocking apps are bad for both but let's not forget who made it so unbearable to ads that they are now popular.

We really need a totally new system allowing people to pay in smarter way!

If you use youtube once or twice a month, paying a full time fee does not make sense.
It is quite similar for e.g. newspapers, where your interest is a specific article, but not a newspaper you would normally read.

SO we need a MICRO-PAYMENT-SYSTEM, that act as an AD BROKER, so each user can choose if they want to be pestered by a specific sites ads, or transfer the micropayment of the same size to the beneficiary you would have if you did waste your time seeing it.

When a page loads, you could be presented with the total for the pages ads, an the option to Pay/Abort/Pester.
And allow in settings to set some limits, e.g. saying that you would transfer up to 5 cents. And if above have the option to select
                                      Always abort/Always Pester/Prompt

And obviously allowing to set as well a general rules, as specific rules for individual sites.
If you use e.g. YouTube a lot you might be willing to shell out more, than the 'random' result from a search-machine.

This system could ALSO handle newspapers and the like with no ads, obviously only with the Pay/Abort
                                      options for those.

Who ever make a system like that would be sitting on a goldmine, as they could take a share of the payment just like any other ad-broker.

The payment could be one time per view few or could be per second you see the page, with a minimal number of seconds charged. This way the system could also be used for streaming services, and for pages with changing ads.

Optimally we in the browser could choose our preferred ad broker, quite similar to choosing our preferred search engine.

YouTube should be cracked down especially Business by Google. Google is only one tracking and controlling our internet specifically in our Age we're losing Rights and Freedom exclusively how our thoughts manipulated by a company.
