Nice camera but that price tho 😱

At least that was mostly the case with the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro, which was the first smartphone to have a retractable camera

Dumb dumb here, I'm confused what does the retracting lens thing do? Is it like with digi cams where it zooms if so shouldn't they have put it on the telephoto or is it like a bridge where it is the 2x to gap to the 3x zoom?

This is like the Phantom X2 Pro, but more upgraded

David 040882, 18 Apr 2024Officially the crappiest comment on this website Go on weibo and see it for yourself. That mechanical lens is simply the way for them to grap your attention, but it's useless without hiding 10x optical. That phone is still over 1cm thick on that camera island and now more mechanical things can break from dropping that phone.

                Huawei revived!

It is possible to survive with just Fdroid and Github but I guess you prefer to be tied up to Google all your life.
And don't worry, Chinese people will surely create and Android emulator for this.
At least China is thinking of setting themselves free from the chains of western tech.
By 2027, Intel and AmD chips will be banned from telcos.

Retractable 1-inch type sensor is crazy!

HOS Next (next update) will be the one free from NSA-Android. And this is China, not USA. They will carry it unlike the Americans that didn't give Nokia Windows phone a chance.

Officially the crappiest phone of this year beating out Xiaomi 14. Snapdragon 888 performance, only 3.5x zoom, no Android, old 989 molded with 1.6 aperture instead of using lyt 900 that comes with 1.6 aperture by default (and has much wider dynamic range and better battery life), only 5200 battery, flat micro curved screen from all sides so you won't be able to protect it with any case and yet the most expensive phone in China. Oh and it let's you view the world in yellow thanks to special ryyb matrix. Lots of yellow photos are out on weibo.

Nova Y62 and Y62 Plus are rebranded Nova Y61s with different memory configurations (Same model number)
Nova Y72 is a brand new model (rebranded Chinese Enjoy 70)
Nova 12i is a brand new model (rebranded Chinese Enjoy 70 Pro)
Nova 12 SE is a rebranded Nova 11 SE which is a rebranded Nova 10 SE with a restyled back (Same model number)
Nova 12s is a rebranded Nova 12 Lite which is a rebranded Nova 11 (Same model number)

I remember when the first CAD renders leaked, some people said they looked like an iPhone camera island. Where are they now ? 😏😏😏
Anyway, incredible smartphone with exotic looks & features, as usual with Huawei flagships.
The Google situation remain though, and this move from "P" to "Pura" was uncalled for.
Imagine Samsung calling next Galaxy "Super 25" instead of S25.

I have seen such thing after a long time. Wanting to see more companies to follow physical expansion of camera island.

Old days were full of such things as compared to nowadays everything digital.
I know I know there are few exceptions as well.. .

The 1" sensor with variable aperture alone already sold me to this phone. This is easily the closest rival to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. I'm unconvinced about the main camera's retractable mechanism since there won't be any true physical optical zooming.
