This is what happens when we have old people in congress making all the decisions. They don't represent the masses at all. The US has no democracy by extension. If congress got together and tomorrow decided nobody is allowed to eat bananas, congratulations, bananas would be banned from the country, even though 99% consume them.
The words plutocracy, oligarchy, kakistocracy, managed democracy, inverted totalitarianism etc should not routinely come up in casual conversations online regarding the US if it was a real democracy. They would be relegated to academia only.

It tracks every single thing you do in the app, and attempts to track you while outside of the app. Yikes! (Google and Meta also do the latter to an extent.)
Everyone should just use FOSS, as your personal info stays private.

Hzzif, 22 Apr 2024One of a kind paranoia towards Chinese companies..This is NOT about china ONLY this has been for 30 years.. don't u see or detected long time that if someone invents something cool and it genetrates big money USA gov immediately targets and what is firs is to try to bribe inventors with fake USA free printed money so they will always offer some littel pennies to inventors they obvisously want to get rich but what USA does they will immediately speed the ''getting rich for them to give them those fake money from government so they can enjoy them straight away .. ANd that one
few bilions or couple of milions is nothing for USA .. They will easily add it to USA debt and it is fine.. Main thing is that popular invented app or feature is owned by them and money will be pouring to USA for decades.. IF USA can't buy popular platform or invented idea they will threaten the company if they will refuse sell and ultimately will destroy them ..

Tiktok is out of control. some of the video should be rated R. I support the ban because I don't want kids to watch some of these video. Facebook video getting ridiculous too.

Ah well how usa amerikas wants all social media under them so big money will be pouring to them not to china.. I would only sell tik to for unlimited price so I would OWN USA and would rename it rebrand it and do what I want to do with the whole country .. Until then I wouldn't sell it

Everyone getting mad at this makes me laugh. Nothing valuable might get lost if they ban it. TikTok collects waaay more data than other US based apps, they collect even your device battery level lol. The Cambridge Analytica scandal became a concern for similar information gathered by Facebook/Meta back in the day.
