The bigger phones had a better battery, screen, speakers, camera and a bunch of other things. Even 'niche' things like the stylus and manual zoom. Of course when you compare software it's the same but it's mainly down to hardware that makes smaller phones worse a lot of the time.

The only exception would be the zenfone bc it was pretty well rounded for a small phone, but even then the speakers and screened were below average and the cameras weren't as amazing as larger phones.

And the SE was no way near a good seller compared to the mainline phones. Even if it did "kill" the 12 mini, there's no excuse for the 13 mini and the se 22. The SE is easily one of their worst ever phones.

"Xperia" name is the biggest problem of Sony flagship phone. Can't the Japanese company make a change?

Ouifuf, 04 May 2024Small is relative. If you want newer features and qualities... moreNot really: the iPhone mini was as fully featured as the other iPhone vanilla models. The Xperias have always been equal, save for the resolution. Zenfones are more fully featured than most larger phones.

How is the SE hated? It's one of the best selling iPhones. It's actually the major cause attributed to the iPhone mini 12's lack of sales, since it came out months early, and most people didn't know a smaller, better iPhone would be coming later in the year. They're making the SE giant next time, so I'm sure they'll murder those sales, too.

Sony doesn’t launch the phones in South Africa anymore.

Anonymous, 04 May 2024Notification LED?Sadly I don’t think that’s coming back. Such a useful feature, just glance at your phone from across the room and know if there is anything that needs your attention. Criminal everyone removed them for cents off the manufacturing cost.

If you want newer features and qualities it's gonna make the phone bigger. If you really want smth that much smaller buy an iPhone se. Oh wait, it's one of their most hated phones.

They'll probably discontinue it next year just like the mini. I don't think Sony publish sales stats but could be wrong. I'm just going off stock counts from suppliers.

The Sony 10vi will be tall ratio or like 1iv 19 ratio?

Ok so the large rectangular shape, that looks like it's slightly inset, and resides directly above the volume rocker is the 5G antenna. I see other people mentioned that it was a cellular antenna and some people have replied that's not what they're talking about. But it actually is what your talking about. Look at the dark phone render. There is a similar shape in the exact same spot however this one has the design aesthetic continued across it. That is your evidence that it is not a functional touchpad of some sort. I think those of you saying this is not an antenna are thinking of the small plastic bands that run maybe an 8th or a 16th of an inch in width across the frame of your phone. Those are for the lower cellular frequencies. Apparently the higher frequency 5G requires a larger antenna footprint. Which would make sense since an antennas size or area is a direct function of the intended wavelengths size aka frequency. If you were to look at the side of say an s23 ultra or an s24 ultra you would see a similar sized square or rectangular indention.
