        But I prefer 2 fixed telephoto cameras with bigger sensors.
        If they can make zoom with 1/2.5" or 1/2", it would be nice.

              Is this hinting at a renaming form XPERIA 1 VI to Sony ONE?
              In any case can't wait for the release, can't wait to upgrade my XPERIA 1 ii, I had all Ericsson's, Sony Ericsson's and Sony XPERIA's, starting with the GH688 a very long time ago.
              Love the software, quicker to get a round with fewer buttons, Stereo socket, Camera button, perfect phone.

                  If the rumours are true then there will be five years of updates either way they have to increase it because of the EU rule and since sharp increased it's support to 5 years back in Sony's home market. They cannot risk losing anymore of the Japanese market or not selling in Europe

                    I am glad there will be a change in the design, and I am curious how the new zoom system will perform. The 85-170 mm is stunning. I am curious when others will join to make a phone with continuous optical zoom.

                        I went last year for PixelBixel (device is shit tbh), as the G company offered 7y of support. I was literally laughing out loud at Sony for their 2y support of a 1.5k usd smartphone.

                        If they fix their dumb updates support strategy and ofer decent 5y, maybe people will start considering it as an alternative to the rivals. Otherwise the path of LG smartphone division is open for them. With the difference, that LG were dreamers and innovators, and sony are mostly locked on cashing the profits with very little innovations (yes, I know they deliver great cameras and camera sensors, but what else?).

                          As a sony phone collector.Im patienly can wait for few years to buy this phone. Already have tonne of Experias in my personal collection.
                          Since Z5, xz , xz1 xzp, xz2, xz2 1 , 5 , 1ii, 5 ii,10iii, 5iii, 10iii.Next hunting will be the 1iii and also 5iv.

                                  Thankfully from what I saw online there are some decent rumors that Sony will offer more software support. Some say 3 years, others five, but anything is welcome compared to just two.

                                  I know some of the Sony fanboys will lash at me because "but people use their phones for two years!', which was the case maybe back in 2016. I'm NOT going to pay iPhone money for a phone that after two years has to be kept on Reddit and XDA's life support.
