The first phones with the said SoC will come out sooner than expected.

Switch has 4300mah battery and 3.7V thats around 16WH battery, with soc like 8 gen 3 or D9300 run full speed it will take less than 1 hour to deplete that battery. With 4W soc switch get around 3 hours playing heavy game like witcher 3.

Its probably going to debut with 8 gen 4 or some variety of X elite.

Its sad this garbage gacha game is still the benchmark for new socs

Very suitable for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch is compact, low power consumption and having a small fan will help.

Both are a win for consumers.

Only teenagers are impressed by gpu performance in a smartphone.
Mature users care about efficiency, as long as SoC is fast enough for everyday usage.

If that's your usage, then you'd literally be fine with a 7+ Gen 1, which shows that you don't even know what you actually need. You just spend money on stuff you don't even understand because it has the "latest and greatest" slapped on it.

So, again. Just another one who chose to opt-out of having a brain apparently.

You'll find somebody on YouTube who actually succeeded in running GTA V & Fallout games on his Android phone.

If the legal complexity is real, then why didn't Microsoft go after Valve, Apple & Codeweavers?

You need to understand that Wine doesn't replicate Windows system-level APIs, it rather emulates/enumerates/translates them in real time. This is why whenever you try to launch a modern windows program using Wine, it defaults to a Windows 95-esque UI.

Nice. Too bad the SoC won’t be that common since Samsung will use Exynos 2500 for all Galaxy S25 lineup.

Genshin will have improved graphics soon so maybe that has something to do with this test but is just speculation. We don’t know what they’re improving as of now but this change might actually let newer chipsets to actually use their gpu to their full potential, at the cost of higher power consumption and potential thermal throttling due to such increase in power.

It's easier to convince developers to code for Android than it is for Google to copy Windows code.

Genshin? That game is cpu bottlenecked as of now. Even older snapdragons couldn’t utilize their gpu above 400-450mhz because the game simply didn’t need it with its current graphics settings. 8gen3 can also run the game 60fps at 1440p or 30fps in 4k with thermal throttling turned off (done by external apps and root) but it consumes around 13 watts, impossible for a phone to cool such power so that’s why the game runs at 720p. The strongest mobile device tested, m2 ipad pro, runs the game at 1440p thanks to faster chipset and more area for cooling but it still can’t cool enough to let the game run at 120fps as it throttles back to 80fps average.

The game already consumes around 6 watts average on 720p (4w for iphone) so 8gen4/the phone tested must have impressive efficiency/cooling to run it fine at 1080p60fps, which seems to be great news provided this rumor is true.

They literally say that for every new CPU, who cares lol

Benchmarks have almost no real impact on real world usage. I know because I've tested this.
