I can't comment on Western markets but the Indian market right now, is beginning to realise that Chinese phones have great hardware and that their ROMs and software are going to get better. I have put my money where my mouth is and have moved, from my Pixel 6 Pro to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, for the camera, which is amazing and it is a good phone too. The Pixel still has the best processing and software but last I looked, (Pixel 8 Pro) they were / are pushing old optics and Sensors and are trying to copy Apple! No thank you 🙏🏽

At least Vivo gives all major accesories in box.
Thanks for that compared to Apple, Google or Samsung where a 1500 eur means you buy just the phone but not genuine bramded accesories.

As always we dont damn care abt vivo or oppo highend phones for global release. If they do even no one cares to buy with their crap software and unreliability. Better to keep trash in china rather than spreading globally.

PatDat, 14 May 2024Agree, they shouldn't' be priced more than iphone... moreif this phone had both a mid range telephoto and a variable aperture I'd say it would've been worth it even if it were more expensive than an iPhone. If it had a JN1 as a selfie sensor I'd say it was offering great value as a flagship. But it has neither of these features and slower updates are another con that just reduce value here, for me at least. I'm fine with 3-4 years of support, I only use a phone for 2-3 years anyways, just the speed of updates is something I like and think is part of the value.

Vivo is the main sponsor of European football cup this year a was 4 years ago.
What's the point in this absurd double behavior?

Vivo Plz dont do this... We want it to be released in India. I am waiting to buy this from a long time and I am huge fan

notafanboy, 14 May 2024Name those "people" who said both of those things... moreI'm one of those people I'd say, the price of the 14 Ultra was ludicrous for me, it was more expensive than an iPhone 15 Pro Max and that's not a good look if your phone is not perfect.

Same goes for this Vivo, I really love Vivo but I can't just say that this phone would be worthy of a higher price than an iPhone. I'd say at best it should be the same price as an iPhone Pro Max phone, why? Because it has flaws for example, no variable aperture and no mid-range telephoto shooter. Add to that, slower updates compared to Google and Samsung and yeah there's definitely not enough value to justify a price higher than the competition buuut if it were priced the same as an iPhone it's a good deal and if it's lower by even 5%, it's a great deal.

I'm the type of guy who thinks 1200 euros/1300 dollars is the most a phone should cost so take my opinion with a grain of salt ig but I just can't seem to find the super-high value of these phones considering they're all flawed enough to, at the end of the day, just provide a similar level of value compared to an iPhone. However, the Vivo X100 Ultra would be a fine deal even if it was 100 euros higher than an S24 Ultra but that phone gets price drops to around 1000 euros and lower, Samsung knows that the S24 Ultra is not worth the MSRP and so gives deals and always drops prices.

Basically I think it's sad that these phones aren't global but tough for me to see the value held by a phone that's more expensive than an iPhone yet has enough flaws to not be
sort of "perfect". In this phone's case for instance, the X100 Pro is so close in performance and output that I think only 5% of people would be unhappy with their purchase since the X100 Ultra doesn't have a variable aperture so is basically the X100 Pro with better sensors, which already had awesome sensors.

Even if they did launch in Europe it would come with buggy fun touch os, that also has horrible translation errors and only 2 or 3 OS updates. No thanks. Software is more important than hardware nowadays, otherwise nokia would still be king with Symbian. I'll stay with Samsung and iPhone for the software.
