Even is just a rebranding, HMD should do some minor changeover, at least. They should replace the SD695 with SD6 which is the latest generation of 6 Series alongside with the features that SD6 capable with. And the Android should be using Android 14 Rather than keep Android 13

The problem with Microsoft was that they were too lazy to work on the app support to get users. And they didnt basically try and just give up on it.

This rebadged device seems to be the result of surplus inventory, otherwise it is aimed at enterprise customers who will receive bulk order discount, data regulation compliance, and the option to pay for additional security updates. HMD also offer EMM solutions too.

I know Tesco, a huge supermarket chain here in the UK, procured the Nokia XR21 for some of their employees. HMD must also offer carbon offsetting through tree planting schemes via a partnership with Ecologi, if you visit the HMD 'forest' on the Ecologi site you can see corporate customers such as Tesco or Deutsche Bahn have their own sub-forests.

The XR21 is definitely one of the better rugged phones on the market, certainly the most practical and ergonomic, but admittedly the price is difficult to swallow with the update promise which matches the Nokia branded model released last year. The screen is also too dim to fully rely on outdoors.

I personally use the (Nokia) XR21 paired with the excellent Locus Map Pro app for navigation and planning routes when hiking and it's a great companion.

Come on that's alot for a SD 695.

I would like to know if it has ringtone of Nokia Tune or HMD Tune.

What’s funny is that the Nokia XR20 has Wireless Charging whereas this doesn’t, even though XR21 is supposed to be a sequel to the XR20.

                      Perhaps a keystroke error from 600 to 300 euros ? 😂😂

                          Sorry for being late

HMD silently announced its first rugged 5G

In what way it's the first rugged phone from the brand when it's same model name and same specs. Just rebranded name.

Well that XR21 under Nokia branding also cost 600 euro at it's release but now under HMD branding it's even crazier as it's beyond reason expensive.

Even 300 euro is too expensive for SD695 in what ever phone it lands in.
For 300 euro we get phones with performance like SD 778/780/7g1 and even D8300

For 600 euro we get SD 8 Gen 2 at least and all the rest of the specs will be good also.
HMD basically makes a 150 euro phone and ask the price of a flagship for it

DarlingYext, 14 May 2024"HMD XR21 ships with Android 13 out of the box.."... moreThe funny thing is the fact that Android 14 wasn't out to the masses when the XR21 originally launched, so now they didn't even bother to upgrade it to Android 14 and just had it still be 13 out the box.

This is literally just a rebrand and nothing else.

                              Oh, HMD...

                                LoL? 🤷🏻‍♂️

One thing to point here is that the phone is "Made in Europe". It's probably the only leading brand with such a tag. And I'm sure it has added overheads to achieve this.
For whom the factor matters, maybe they'll wanna shed some cash. Others will say that they'll take the cheaper option which is "Made in China" or elsewhere. A choice for those who might wanna buy such a thing. The others can happily pass :)

thats even more insane pricing that Sony does, and that's saying something. at least they have decades worth of brand recognition while HMD has what? they licensed the nokia name for a couple years so what. absolute joke.
