Some Anonymous Prson, 19 May 2024Yes, the phone will last longer. It would last even longer... moreI absolutely share your sentiment and I miss those time where I could carry one fully charged phone battery in my bag. But times have changed (not for the better) and we have to make the best of what we have.
I also hope that EU forces the phone manufacturers to include user-replaceable battery asap.

1 vi, too expensive, if $800-900 maybe
10 vi, affordable, but same spec, other brand, is cheaper

It would last even longer if you could pop the back off and change the battery. Remember when you could do that with battery powered devices and tools? These days, it's difficult to find even a flashlight with replaceable batteries. What's next? Cars with non-replaceable batteries , tires, brakes, filters, belts, or even oil, etc.? Shoes with non replaceable shoelaces? Shirts that use proprietary buttons? Lamps with bulbs that can't be replaced?

Missing features like a pen, eND, 13/12mm superwide camera, 6.8+'' screen make it impossible for me to buy, as I got them all besides eND, and its basically what I need, its not like I could do without them... I would only take improvement, not downgrade when I got to even pay for it, no matter the price.
Actually price matters a little if its missing those features, if it got them, I would compare then.
Some features are worth getting for high amount of money, imagine all cameras in it would come with removable uv/ir filter. I would buy such Xperia even for 3000 euro.

I actually want one just because of the great battery life. Every other aspect seems to pass my standards as a flagship phone. Yes, that includes the display and the slow charge.

One thing that people often overlook is that with super long battery life, you don't need to charge the phone as often. This reduces the charging cycles you need per year and saves battery.
As changing the battery on any phone today means tearing through the IP68 seal and costs money, long battery life essentially prolongs the effective life of your phone. (Because c'mon, how many people actually replace the battery instead of just buying a new device?)

After 4 years, I could use an upgrade over my trusty P40 Pro, so this phone with the headphones bundled in is a worthy upgrade.

I also appreciate the improved audio through wired headphones and improved Bluetooth hi res codecs. Macro photography on a phone is useful. Those are basically the reasons I wanted it, particularly the wider screen. It's not going to be available where I am, though.

I'll definitely buy the 10 mark VI. It's a great phone. There is nothing in its price range that appeals to me. The rest of the phones are either full of bloatware, have awful battery life, or are trying to win customers by having high specs but making too many trade offs as a result. Sony's phones are super durable and reliable.

I would not buy the Xperia 1 vi because it got too wide (the v was also too wide, but tolerable given the camera hardware). I would not buy the Xperia 10 vi because of the camera system downgrade. If they hadn't downgraded these aspects this generation, I'd have considered either.

Nope. Don't like to watch Asians get extremely yellow skin! None to less noise canceling voice calls! Only for video recording. And the speaker is so low that you can hardly hear the Netflix movie, if the neighbors are vacuuming.

May be it's time to ditch front camera & add pop up camera Sony & improve In-Display Cameras until they can take clear photos without AI processing (Found in ZTE Axon Old Phones). Also, Adding V3+ ISP + Oppo NPU + Q1 Intelligent Chip + S1 Sound Chip might boost flagship to kill All Ultras & iPhones & Pro +/Pro Max Phones. For Upper Mid-range phones , 10 Series will need 7+ Series Chips , for Mid-range Phones, 20 Series needs to introduced with 7 Series Chips , Lower Mid-range phones, 30 Series needs to be introduced which will need 6 Series Chips & lastly 40 Series needs to be introduced for 4 Series Chips. This will increase fan base and consumer preference ultimately leading to profits & popularity.

I expect HD screens for low end devices, Full HD for low to medium, 1.5k for medium and flagship killers and QHD for flagships. No exception.
A Full HD display for a photo-video oriented flagship is a bad joke and I take it as an offense.
They thought it was cheaper to send an army of shills and trolls to bombard the internet with the idea that you can not even perceive the difference above Full HD, and how good is that for battery life - instead of actually installing a proper high quality display on the phone, but they were wrong. People are not stupid, and although not everybody is well informed and read forums, those tho read and are informed, advice uninformed people what to buy, so good luck!
These days were the good ones for the 1 VI, with activity on threads and the outcry. Now comes the bad period, the silence, the crickets. This (bad) decision is gonna cost you, like a lot.
I don't care how many X-s and thumbs down I'm gonna get for this.

Some Anonymous Prson, 19 May 2024Tech blogs comments can be infantile and nasty. I guess it... moreWell, I don't see anything CHILDREN in it!! That a user of a dead average brand who has spent their money on that brand can say what they think when the company is making bad decisions like in this case!! They shouldn't degrade the panel like that all of a sudden, it should have stayed at 2k at least... but the worst thing is charging the money they are asking for a low-end panel, for more bravia technology and blah blah blah... those are just tricks marketing

It really should be required by law for phones to have user replaceable batteries. There is no reason that these things need to be consistently updated by Android and Apple either. Security updates, fixing bugs and improving performance should be enough but instead, they force updates which often destroy perfectly working devices. OS updates should be optional. You should get a notification and then be able to download it at a later date if you want and go back to the previous OS if you choose. Instead, it stays on your phone, nags you and then eventually installs itself. You need to waste time figuring out a new confusing UI that requires multiple clicks to accomplish what you used to do with one. They usually remove useful features and wreck havock with devices. Apps no longer work, Bluetooth connections become unsteady, and so on. Companies shouldn't be releasing new models annually. It isn't really necessary and it encourages people to buy a new phone when they can still get years out of the one they have if the battery could be easily replaced. The business model needs to change. Electronic gadgets do wear down but non user replaceable batteries and forced OS updates cause phones to last far less than they otherwise would. The price on the 1 VI wouldn't really be all that bad considering what it does, if it would last at least six years. They could make phones last ten years if they wanted to.

XCIV, 19 May 2024I would if I could. Sony doesn't launch their phones i... moreOr in the U.S. now. They stopped releasing them in Canada a few years ago. The last 5 available here was the IV, now the 1 and 10 are gone, as well.
